I was going to say "G19!", but I've changed my mind.. After putting nearly 900 rounds thru it the other day, I've come to one conclusion.. "I'm really sick 'n tired of this thing biting the web of my hand!", and, "Damn that hurts!". Other than that, I love it. It's been really, really reliable, and I can pretty much hit anything that I'm shooting at (within reason). I just can't get over the giant scar that I still have on my hand. My left hand feels like its been beat on with a meat cleaver.. OUCH!!!

So, for now, I'm changing my vote and giving it to my HK P7 PSP. It's just as accurate, if not more so, has been just as reliable, and hasn't removed an ounce of flesh after more that 600 rounds sent downrange..

As soon as my HK P2K arrives, the P7 may be supplanted as my fave.. Only time, and a few thousands rounds, will tell. :D

I prefer a revolver like my S&W 686, or 625. The reason is that the revolver is the only true one handed defence handgun. Now I know round failures are rare but it happens. Auto loaders jam, and yes revolvers jam also but its much more rare in a revolver then a auto loader.
Unfortunately revolvers are to bulky to carry(at least the ones I want to carry) so most of the time I carry a SA. Did all that make sence?

S&W Mod 586 4" with my butchering enhancements
Half lug
Brass insert front sight thinned to .110"
moonclipped
shortened target grips
rounded butt like a J frame square butt
Ugly as sin but works very well.

This or a tossup with my S&W 13

My S&W 35 is fun also; J frame, 6" barrel, target sights.

S&W K-38 & Ruger Blackhawk .357/9mm Convertible....

While I have firearms more modern & more powerful, these are the two I trust by my bedside at night...

I'm torn between my Colt Comander Gold Cup .45God w./2-tone finish (lightly/tastefuly customized) and my Glock 17(hard chrome slide).

Ah, heck! I like my Colt better anyhow! I pick my Colt! :D

Semi's for now, but that may change. The more I get into reloading, the less I like chasing brass. And the more I like the flexibility afforded by revolvers.

I think my CCW piece will always be a semi, though.
