What is your dream revolver?

there was a russian designed break top 357 was a pipe dream at one point, I believe it was called a mp412 or something like that. It was never put into production.

M27- 3" tube

I'd struggle with the sights on the short barrel, but the sleek , shrouded N-frame is one sinister, good looking wheel gun.

I had it, but had to sell it during a time of shall we say, "economic downturn." :( Oh well. It happens.

Smith & Wesson 24-3, 4" barrel, in 44 Special.

A more svelte version of the Model 29. Think a Model 15 on steroids, it had the same relationship to a 29 that a Model 15 has to a Model 19.

I really liked that gun.

What is your dream revolver?

I'm simple. All I want is a SW Model 66 with a 2.5" inch barrel. Made the mistake of not getting one before they stopped making them and have regretted it ever since.

I couldn't buy a magazine-fed revolver so I built one:

http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2014/03/03/maurice-frankenruger-magazine-fed-revolver/

Six shot cylinder, up to 14 rounds without reloading, rapid reloads via tubular mags plugging into the back. Auto switchover between cylinder and magazine feeding, gas powered ejection of empties (9mmPara+P). I normally carry with a 2rd mag topping off 5 in the cylinder with two 9rd reload mags, but I can stack 9 on 5 if I need to.

I had to convert it from 357 to 9mm to get the shells narrow enough to slip past the pawl on the way into the back of the cylinder. I also can't get it to jam - the feed path is dead straight and it doesn't care about OAL of shell. Eventually I'll score some 100gr double-ended wadcutters and get 10 in the long mags, maybe three in the short mag.

I don't know if I could choose one dream revolver, but I'd love to see Ruger come out with a non-fluted GP100 chambered in .41 Magnum. With some slight modifications it could be done.

I like something to break up a cylinder visually but I'll tell you what. If Ruger ever releases a GP100 of reasonable length in .41 magnum, I'll take up shooting .41 magnum. :)

Speaking of what could be done, people seem to like the Model 69, which puts 5 rounds of .44 magnum on a frame that usually sees 6 of .357. Imagine that in a GP100...

I just got mine. A S&W 3" 24-3....

Not my actual gun...

I'd love to have a 2.5" S&W DA Perfected single release made with modern metallurgy. Make it in .38 Super and give it good big sights. That would be the perfect snubby.

I also dream of a modern Ladysmith, one that does not break and has big adjustable sights.

Honestly, I have pretty much gotten all my normal dream revolvers (S&W, Ruger, Colt) and the only ones left are the rare ones which I covet and not likely to ever own.
