What is your dream revolver?

Ruger GP100 with 3" or 3 1/2" barrel, wood grips the same size as the Ruger compact grips, night sights, chamfered charge holes, and trigger work. I'd like it to be cut for moonclips so either rimmed or clipped ammunition would work.

Another good one would be an S&W J-Frame chambered in 327 Federal Magnum with six shot capacity, night sights, chamfered charge holes, trigger work, compact grips and trigger work.

Hmm...I'd also like to see a Ruger Alaskan chambered in 357 Magnum with 8 shot capacity (using S&W N-Frame speed loaders), 3" or 3 1/2" barrel, Ruger compact grips, night sights, chamfered charge holes, and trigger work. I'd like it to be cut for moonclips so either rimmed or clipped ammunition would work.

Freedom Arms, single action revolver, large frame model 83, 5 shot...and I like their Octagonal barrel option...( 4 1/2", 7"...) they make very nice guns !

In a double action revolver it is always a S&W model 27 in a 4" ..and Nickel is preferred...( .357 Mag )...and an older model with pinned barrel and recessed cylinder...

(and I already have them ...!) http://thefiringline.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=82121&d=1340222605

Howdy

For many years the gun I thirsted over was a Smith and Wesson 44 Handejector, First Model, the Triple Lock. I finally got to scratch that itch a couple of years ago and now have two of them.

This one is a bit unusual, a Target Model with 7 1/2" barrel, shipped the first year of production, 1908.

I actually like this one better, nickel plated, standard sights, 6 1/2" barrel, it shipped in October of 1915. If I had encountered this one first, I probably would have stopped looking for any more Triple Locks. As it was, the target model came along first.

Now that I have a couple of my Grail guns, I don't really lust for anything anymore. But sometimes something comes along that I just can't pass up.

This 44-40 Merwin Hulbert Pocket Army, Second Model is my latest acquisition. Produced sometime between 1880 and 1883.

Here is another great old revolver that came my way, a Bisley Colt, chambered in 38-40, made in 1909 IIRC.

This K-22 from 1935 made its way into my safe last year. It is no longer wearing the trigger shoe or the grip adapter.

Found a terrific as-new-in-the-box S&W Model 14-3 last year. Sorry, I'm only allowed six photos per post.

But with all these great guns, not to mention the ones already in my safe, I really am not lusting for anything more. But when something terrific shows up, I usually grab it.

What is your dream revolver that if you could walk into a gun shop today and buy you would?

If it's something that actually exists or existed, probably a modern rendition of Jack Weigand's .44 carry snub. Without the porting.

(Yeah, yeah, it's a bull gun. It's been gone over by a good smith, and I'd stipulate parts and service be available.)

I'd like a break top revolver in 357 magnum.... sadly I dont think one exists.
Well, Saturday at a gun show I did run into a break top .45 Colt revolver new in the box.... But I couldn't bring myself to spend $800 for it.

As for dream revolver. Already have it. My blued Ruger 5 1/2" flattop .45 Colt/.45 ACP convertible, tuned up by Munden Enterprises. Dream to shoot and all I really need in a Big Bore. Sad I know... but so true. It's backup is another Ruger blued tuned 5 1/2" .44 Special flattop...... Can't image what else a man would need or want.

My dream revolvers would be a Colt Nickel Bankers Special in 22LR or a Colt 2.5" Nickel Diamondback 22LR... NIB of course with box and paperwork.

I've had pythons, still have a Model 27 & 29, had Mode 19s & 13s.

Still have my dream revolver, that being my 4 inch Model 28 I carried in LE for 20 years. It was given to me by the department when I retired. Still have it, still shoot it (a lot).

Everytime I think of the perfect revolver, I keep coming back to it.

Any quality single action that I do not already own - all Bisley types specifically EXCLUDED. Looking at those is like looking at a bad train wreck!

In the past I have lusted over (and still do) a SBH in .44 and a GP100.

However, this time I'm citing the S&W M&P R8 as my dream gun.

I would like a .357 and the 8 rd cylinder would make it such a good HD gun.

Dream. As in probably NOT going to get for whatever reason.

Korth, Mateba, Medusa.

Korth, sure. Mateba, "Uhh, OK" Medusa, technically interesting, but I don't care about what it's unique feature is.

Manhurin .357. I keep hearing everyone rave about the quality.
