What is your dream revolver?

Upgraded Charter Arms Bulldog...

in .45 Auto Rim, with shorten cylinder and barrel set to offset the cylinder gap.

Now That's a defensive revolver.

Why not complete the design and have the frame's cylinder window fit the cylinder length? Be kind of an odd looking little dude, eh?

Well, did a little rescearch and it looks ...

like a new frame will be needed as the .44Spl., maximum pressure is 14,000psi. While the .45ACP [which is the .45 Auto Rim, with a rim to headspace on] is 18,000 -20,000 psi.

The basic idea was to use present frame with the shorted cylinder and gain teh additional barrel length.

S&W 617 4"
Just can't cut loose with eight hundred bucks for a rimfire
I Know, same materials, same machining, same workmanship, yada, yada, yada, but $750- $800 new, $500-$600 used for a plinker, range toy, NO!

I share the feeling, but a 617 6" is a serious target gun. I expect that most "dream guns" would be relatively expensive and that we might actually dream that we could afford one.

Since .44 Special ballistics basically match .45 ACP ballistics, I'd just get the standard Bulldog.

I need one of these, except without the 22lb double action trigger pull :D
And higher sights, but I'd want to see about having some sort of holographic sight installed for S&G's

I saw a Walker Colt at the gun show. The guy had a letter with it. He said he had been offered $100k and did not take it.

I can't take a picture at Washington Arms Collectors events. I would have taken a pic of that guy and his revolver.

What kind of guy can afford that revolver and yet has the time to rent a table just to show it off? He must have been looking for a higher offer.

Uberti make a copy for $350.
If I had the Colt I could sell it an buy 300 Ubertis. Or buy one and pocket the difference.

$100K for an original Walker would be a bargain. There were only 1100 of them ever made, fewer still exist, partially because they had a bad habit of blowing up. They usually go for around $300K to $500K. The record so far was last October, $920K at the James Julia auction in Maine.

Good luck with that $350 Uberti replica, they start at $449. Dixie Gunworks price right now is $410.

I am collecting Korths made in Ratzeburg and did not even dare dreaming about finding a Korth Sport in the elusive .32 S&W Long when I was approached by an older gentleman I used to shoot with who is scaling back for health reasons.

I will pick the revolver up Monday or Tuesday and it will fit into the row and shine at the gun range.

My ruger blackhawk was always my dream wheel gun until I saw a sauer single action on one of these threads. WOW, but my ruger will always be in second place:D

Found mine

I found mine last year, a first run, low serial number, manufactured in 1956, 2nd. Gen Colt SAA, the first run since they shut down at the start of World War Two!

In my dream I'd be able to afford the 1847 Walker Colt that sold for just under a million dollars.

Lucky for you Uberti makes a fantastic Walker replica that goes for about $450 if you shop around. :)
