What is the largest caliber you would carry?

Shoulder bag? I think you mean a murse. :)

Man-Bag, **g-Bag, call it what ya will. I'm 6'1" @ 300lbs and I have yet to have my manliness questioned. :p Fact is, I ride a wheel chair any time I am out an would have to walk very far or stand very long and getting to pockets or yer belt is... obstructed. I started using a fanny pack but wanted something more functional and made to carry a gun in and bought the "Unisex" bag from E. S. Ramey.

Back to the topic: While the biggest I carry is my 1911, my go-to daily carry is my KT P11 as the 1911 is HEAVY! I am heavy enough without adding any extra weight to my failing chassis!

Largest caliber by what measure? Are we talking the biggest diameter bullet? Or the one with the most muzzle energy?

Largest diameter: .45 ACP
230g Federal Hydrashok in a 1911 or a Model 25

Most powerful: This one -

175g Winchester Silvertips @1250 fps are controllable.
215g LSWC @1000 fps emulates the old "police" load

As of about two weeks ago, 4" S&W M-25 in 45 Colt.
Prior to that, a 1911.

Bill, what barrel length is your M-25? Hard to tell from that perspective, but if I had to guess I'd say 3".

Winter carry right now is a 4046 .40 cal S&W with a 4 inch barrel along with 3 hi-cap clips/mags.Yep it's a heavy sucker but i do love shootin it and it's quit accurate.

orionengnr,

The M25 is one of the John Jovino "Effector" models before they rollstamped the barrel. Measured length is approximate 2 7/8" IIRC. Nice shooter. I just received a box of Black Hills 255g LSWC Auto Rim ammo for it.

Well If im carrying for bear, 44mag. Just around town I probably wouldn't carry anything over a .40, in fact im a big 9mm fan so id probably just stick with that. But my 12ga is always in my car so....:D
