And by the way, flcjinflorida, I'd HIGHLY recommend a more specific question to elaborate what you're looking into. Your question is extremely vague that will only generate vague answers.
There is no "best" 40, however there are lots of very good 40 caliber weapons out there. For concealed carry a compact size M&P, Glock or XD would be a good place to start. I have a Sigma in 40 that I carry often but the stiff trigger is a problem for some people.
I just bought a pristine Stainles Steel M28-2 from a collector and intend to use it for in the car and at bed side. Recommendations for the best ammo for this pistol and use intended from some of you serious members please.
New member.
Thanks
M28-2
I won't claim to know which is best, but I have a Sigma, and a P226 Sig. I got the Sigma first, and got very proficient with it, in spite of the heavy and long trigger pull. I believe guns like these to be very good training tools. When I got my Sig, it took about 2 mags of ammo to get the "feel" of it. I still shoot the Sigma, but the Sig is definitely the Cadillac of the two.
Answer to the OP GUNS are like WOMEN some work for and some DON'T.You find what is best and SITCK with it.You be the judge it is your LIFE PERIOD.I like the 40 .S&W M&P fullsize & conpact
This depends if you want a CCW, or a range gun. I have owned many 40cal pistols and in my experience the best all around is my S&W custom shop Shorty forty. Concealable, deadly accurate and 100% reliable with thousands of rounds of just about everything available for factory and reloading down the tube.
I have also had great results with the FNP 40 as well as the XD(m). Guns are of a personal nature, and there is no perfect size, weight or appeal. As already stated there are guns made for different purpose's. You just need to try to find a range that rents and test them.
I've got the CZ40B that I enjoy shooting. While no longer in production(drat!) the pistol was a joint project of Colt and CZ. When Colt backed out of the project, CZ marketed the pistol, and dropped it when the parts ran out. The stock magazines hold 10 rounds, and the CZ75 40S&W mags hold 12 rounds. Fit and feed in both is flawless. The 12-rounders are easier to find.
I won't say it's the best one out there, but it was designed for the .40 S&W, not a 9mm design that was adapted for the .40 S&W.
