Pretty simple question. Please answer and then feel free to elaborate. Also feel free to add a second favorite. :)

This might surprise a lot of people but I find the most beautiful finish on a gun to be a high quality glossy blued finish. I just do not buy them that way because they scratch and my OCD does not allow me to own guns with scratches on them. :D

PS: "Gloosy" is the same thing as "glossy." :o

Stainless.

Polished flats, bead blasted rounds.

Nothing wrong with NP3 either.

Never heard of Gloosy Blued though...sounds exotic.

Shiny blue / shiny black, both are pretty awesome.

Parkerized would be a close third. It's so nasty and dull that it's somehow great.

I hate stainless. Boring. It's just metal, no entertainment value at all.

I once saw a 1911 in a magazine that was heated with a torch and then dunked in used motor oil. It had a golden brown patina to it that was FANTASTIC!

Nothin beats a nice deep glossy blued finish, I see a old Colt python in my head
I own alot of stainless guns, they are easier to keep lookin good.

It depends a lot on the gun and/or it's purpose.

I like the mirror finish on a big manly revolver... sometimes.

I love the finish on the DW CBOB.... but imagine that same look on a Glock, yuck.

Overall, I think probably satin stainless.

BTW, it's only fair if you post pics from your collection to give us concrete examples of each finish. :)

Black chrome.

I can't say that one finish is right for all guns, but have been contemplating making a few of my guns wear black chrome.

I picked Gloosy blued because there is nothing more beautiful in a gun IMO.
BUT I usually tend to buy polished stainless because I think they are easier to care for.

I like for a B-B-Q gun like my custom 1911 china white, with silver and gold accents and inlays in the engraving. With the hand carved black walnut grips that are inlayed with turquose, and black onyx. My grampa did mine many years ago. I just wish I could get a camera to take to my dad's to get a pic of it.
Other favorite is the royal blue finish that is on my Pythons.

I had to vote other because it depends... I think that a deep glossy blued finish looks great on a revolver but on a semi I'm fond of the two-tone look with a satin stainless slide and black frame.

I'm disappointed you don't have my favorite up there....Parkerized with tasteful, beautiful wood grips. Nothing else says classy old school style than that.

Fancy, schmancy polished stainless/black chrome/whatever the flavor of the day finishes steals the natural beauty from most steel framed firearms. Stainless belongs to silverware.

I like blueing as a close second, but it has to be a good quality. The best looking blueing IMO is Les Baer and older Colts.

Finish

I gotta say it "depends". I ordered a Fusion, all Ion Bond. I believe it will be a matt black. Thats what I prefer on a service pistol. Recently though, I've developed the hots for a "nickled" SW 29-2. I really like the classic deep blue on a classic wheel gun too. Well...there you go; sorta like Poncho Villa...different wife in every village!
