what do you think is the most under appreciated gun on the market?

Of the guns I own now I think the Bersa BP9cc in highly under appreciated. It is small, light, and thin enough to suit my tiny hands and its stock trigger is really light with a short reset. CTD sells them for $370ish.

gbclarkson, good point on the Bersa. I'll add the Bersa Thunder Pro series (both full size and the Ultra Compact) to the list. My Bersa Thunder Pro 9 Ultra Compact is very comfortable and shoots great, and can be easily found for about $350. But they never seem to get any love on forums.

Taurus. They make great revolvers and steel frame semi's but because of the issues with their poly guns people tend to laugh or cringe when you say "Taurus"

I have a PT99AF  that I bought new in 1987. I will put that up against any 9mm semi for accuracy and reliability.

I agree with the folks who mentioned Canik/Tristar. I also really wanted to get a Sar ST10 recently but settled on a CZ P07 Duty, which is now it seems getting more recognition as a great gun for the price. Of the people who said they have a Sar ST10, how do they shoot? And are there any other pistols that youd compare them to size and function-wise? Another that I'm very interested in is the Fn FNX9. I've heard great things about both the FNX and FNS lines. For like $420 you get the gun and 3 17 round mags. Seems like an awesome deal

"Wow cdnn has Sar K2p's for $279. I have not heard any one who has one that does not like it.

Thats not too much higher than Hi-Point money and you actually end up with a honest pistol."

I bought one of the Sar k2p's from CDNN for $279 and it is undoubtedly a $500 gun, the fit, finish and quality are on par with a CZ. I can't stress enough how under appreciated this gun is.

Paltares8 - I cant speak to the st10 but I recently got some time behind an fns9c and that gun was like my old sr9c done right. It was the best compact gun I have shot. It had a great trigger, perfect night sights from the factory, and a great grip, for me it pointed naturally as well. I debated ditching my g19 and trying to find a trade for an fn... but couldn't bring myself to do it. If I were starting all over again I would probably have made that my first gun purchase.

Paltares8 , I have the SAR ST10. It is a fantastic handgun. I don't know which one impresses me more the ST10 or the BP6. After putting a 1000 rds through my BP6 , I sold my CZ P07. THE BP6 outperformed the CZ , better fit , definitely a better trigger. The B6P is poly, the ST10 is alloy. They say that the ST10 is a copy of the HK USP. The B6P is a CZ clone. These are by far my two favorite handguns right now.

I know I'm going to be hated for this but I have to say the Stoeger Cougar 8000. I have one and I absolutely love it. It is kind of a fat 9mm but I've never had any problems with it and it actually shoots pretty dead on. I'm not sure if they make them anymore but when I got mine it was very cheap and I don't think they are that bad looking.

It would have to be the FN/Browning Model 1910. It offers so much for a pocket pistol. I have carried one for over 40 years and it has never failed me.

To me, it would be a prime candidate for resurrection by a modern company.

I have many of the under appreciated pistols:
Taurus (5)
Arcus
Tsisas MS380
Keltec P3AT
Astra Constable II

...and I hope to add more to the list.

I think any ruger. They have a great price point coupled with just great quality. All the ones i have owned function and shoot as accurately as counterparts more than twice their price.

Rugers SR pistols.

Late to the party and poorly marketed they never got traction in LE, military or civilian sales.

I used to say the Hipoints C9. In 2007 you could get one NIB for $125, which was affordable to anyone with a job. They work. There wasn't much at that pricepoint, even used and surplus, that would make a good HD or glove box gun and was reliable. You really could carry one. They are very very close in size to a Glock 26 and many conceal those(just single instead of double).

Now you can get an LCP for $199 and the Hipoints are often over $150. 380, but it makes a great carry gun also. Very difficult to argue against it.

I mostly think about new shooters in this context. For an established enthusiast the answer would be different. Probably one of the oddball 22lrs I think.

SR9C got a bad rap because of the trigger reset and light primer strikes issue on the first run - the trigger group has been updated since then. Yes, the finish on the Ruger SR series is rough to say the least, but its been the best striker fired trigger I have tried thus far.

The High Point is not under appreciated - its appreciated right where it is.. barely worth $100, and it shows.

I think this response gives us a good answer. Probably three quarters of the answers are Turkish made guns, and there is still a sentiment that they aren't any good because of where they were made.

I have no problem with where they're made; My problem is how they are made. I made the "Turkish" mistake 5 times and five times I got "turkeys." Five poorly made and troublesome guns to include three pistols and two shotguns. (I'm a slow learner.) At this point, I stay completely away from anything made in Turkey.
