What do we nickname ultra-sub compacts?

Once upon a time, when men's fashions were different, a moderately small gun like a 1903 Colt or Walther PPK was called a "pocket pistol."
A very small gun like a .25 (the size of modern dwarf .32s and .380s.) was known as a "vest pocket pistol."

I've heard them referred to as "micro-compacts" several times. I have been using that term myself for a while since nothing better was floating around.

I like Mini-Matic.
But why can't they just be mouse guns? Does it really matter that the name "includes the smaller calibers like .32 and down to the .22"?

In the old days we called them "belly guns", didn't matter revolver or auto.
Guns intended for belly to belly range.....

Pocket Rocket/pocket guns is what I call them. Any gun that fits in your pocket falls under those two for me.

Where I grew up pocket rocket meant one of two things.

1. A small female stimulator meant to be carried in the pocket or purse.
2. Any stimulant drug in pill form that is/was carried in the pocket.

If a man said, "I've got a rocket in my pocket" to a woman it was considerred a crude sexual proposition.

Never been a fan of the cutsie nick names that younger shooters have come up with for some of our equipment. Eg: Winnie for Winchester, Remmie, Snubbie...you get the idea...maybe it's the "ie" ending...maybe aficionados of this kind of talk think it's hip...can't say..but it does make 'em sound a bit silly in my mind...I can just imagine what my old military instructors would have said, had I used a similar name for the Garand, Car-15, 1911A1 etc...
