what .22 lr pistol would you buy your significant other?

Success!

She loves it!

Went to the store... had her fooled in to thinking I was buying it for myself. We "I" looked at 4 different pistols of the same model. 3 of them actually had a little bit of leftward lean to the front sights, I even had the guy at the shop take a look to make sure I wasn't crazy and he agreed. So her and I BOTH decided that "I" should get the one that had perfectly square sights and a very very very slight ding on the aluminum frame instead of one of the 3 with a leaning left front sight.

When I went to start filling out the paper work she was about to walk away to brows the shop, but I told her to hold on a second... she came back, I handed her the pen and said "Happy Birthday"...

She loves it... absolutely loves it. She talked about the color pattern, the grips, the trigger, the sights, the overall feel, overall styling and every single thing about it. I'll admit, I wish I had bought one along side her, but then I would have had to chose from the one's with left leaning sights. :)

She really couldn't be happier... well, I'm sure she will be after she shoots it.

I just got done fondling mine reminding it and myself how much I love it despite my fixation on hers... Now I'm going to search the web for other cool versions of the Buckmark! :)

Thanks for all the input everyone... Nothing quite like a semi auto .22!!!

The home team has a Ruger SR22 for use of all.
We're happy.
edit: too late for advice (as usual). Hope you enjoy your pistol.

Bersa, Ruger MK and Buckmark

If you are referring to my wife and self defense, I plan on getting her a Bersa. As far as target shooting, my first choice would be one of the MK family members. The Buckmark is another great choice but her hand is too small for that grip. When she is ready, I will get her a SCCY. ..... ;)

Be Safe !!!

Finding the right pistol isn't the only problem. A bigger one comes with locating .22 ammo.

All the local gun shops are either out of .22 or are selling it at scalper's prices. I've seen bulk boxes of 525 rounds for over $100. Buying .22 ammo online is also expensive. Currently a 50 round box of 40gr. LRN .22 can be be bought (Including shipping) from ammotogo for $21.71 or $17.94 (with a limit of one box) from Cabelas. It's been years since I've seen .22 mini-mag for sale anywhere.
