Western States TFL Round Up

Coinneach - the other day you mentioned being in a good mood, and listening to Godsmack on the way to work. Hmmm... Perhaps a Suburban would be too big - though it would leave room for LOTS of toys with just two people in it ;).

Washoe county(Reno are) has a municipal range open to the public. It is about 15 miles north of Reno toward Pyramid Lake. It is run buy the Reno/Sparks police trainers I believe. I took my CCW class there and I think it would be a great place to have a meeting. The two guys who run it are listed online by their training company: www.sierrafirearms.com . Also look under www.co.washoe.nv.us in the parks and rec department. They might have the range's contact #s listed.

Let's not go to any municpal range if we have to pay. There's a nice 300 yard range east of Carson City which is free.

Ewok - I think not. I beleive the intent here is to get to know in person some of the people we've been sharing information, advice, taunts and comradarie with at TFL.
 
I can probably make it to Reno. They have that big Lou Fascio Gun show there a few times a year, it'd be a blast if one was on while we were there.

Well, I'm psyched. Let's keep this thread on top. So, have we decided on Reno, last weekend of August? I'll bring some 9mm Vector, which I can't legally shoot in CA, for the night show.

I've never hunted anything before. What distance will we be engaging these jack rabbits? Should I get some varmint ammo for my AR-15 clone, or would .22 WMR from a 9.5in. Ruger SA be more appropriate? I could use my T/C 10mm Contender, but I don't think there'd be much rabbit left :)

Any ideas for the official lodging establishment for the 1999 Western States TFL Round Up? I did a little surfing, but nothing really stood out. I would think that we'd be looking for a non-casino motel, where we could park near our respective rooms. But if y'all want to do Circus Circus, I'm up for that too.
