Went to Wally world and they had ammo!

Went to get a few groceries & targets...saw they had some .45 ammo, so I asked about it (I bought their last 2 boxes of Blazer Brass a week and a half ago)

Only got 5 boxes in, I got 3 (w/the wife & just paid bills...no need to push it):o

Asked if he knew how often/when they get in shipments - he had no clue - said that was the first they had in almost 2 wks...Yep, I bought your last 2 boxes:cool:

The two nearest me have had a pretty good supply of bulk pack 9mm, and 380, as well as the 50 round boxes of 9mm, .40, 357sig. I've been picking up value packs of 9mm and 380 the last few times I was in. Still Just under $20 for the 9mm, and just over $30, for the 380's.

The Wally's near me have been out for weeks. I went to Bass Pro for some ammo last night. The 9mm was a little higher but they get $7 a box more for .45 WWB. The best deal at Wally's is Blaser Brass 9mm for $8.99 a box. Hope they restock.

My local Wal-Mart was almost completely sold out of ammo (January 26). There is more demand, and supply is trying to keep up.

Went to my local one on Monday and all they had were .40S&W (which I bought and left 3 value boxes left). No 9mm, nor .45ACP!

And the sales girl says they won't get more in stock for a few months.

Went in my local Wal-Mart here in NC... no 9mm, .380, .40, .45, etc. Basically an empty shelf of nothing. Only cartridges you could buy were one or two boxes of .22 and shotgun shells... everything else, gonzo. Said nothing more was slated to come in for a while, but they have trucks coming in that might have some, call and check... oh well.

Went to the WW here this afternoon. They had 6 boxes, 9mm, 50 rd, 115 gr, Remington FMJ for $10.97. I took 3 and the guy in line ahead of me took the other 3. They had 4 boxes Remington, .45 ACP, 230 gr, FMJ, $18.97. I got 1 box which gives me an even 1K .45s and 900 9mm. I need another 600 9mms because I have a G19 and a PF9.

I have never seen the shelves so bare.

BTW, my LGS has lots of Glock mags and I got one for the G19, but no Ruger .45s. I was hoping to pick up another 10 rd Pro-Mag.

went to a different wal-mart tonight and they had some but selling out fast. bought 250 rds

I hadn't had a probelm getting ammo at Wally World until last night. I usually get WWB, but all they had was Remington - and only 10 boxes of 50 rounds. I took 300 rounds. Probably should have taken the rest, but took a pay cut to keep my job, so didn't think it was prudent for the funds.

The guy behind the counter said that they got a memo from Wal-M*art's headquarters saying all the ammo suppliers were working overtime trying to catch up to the demand. At least that is an industry that isn't laying off!

Two of the local Wal-marts as well as the Sportsmen Warehouse have been stripped of ammo by people. However the Cabelas in Boise is still stocked. I just ordered 500 rounds of 38 special (Magtech,158 grain LRN) from their catalog and it was in stock. Just had it shipped to the Boise store and saved shipping and handling.

The store had plenty of all the popular as well as the more obscure calibers such as .455 Webley. I don't know maybe Cabelas saw the run coming last year and stocked it's warehouses?

I apologize for anyone who went to the Walmart after I did. They had 25 boxes of 9mm Blazer Brass so I did what anyone else would do... I bought them all! I still have 1000 rounds of .40 S&W and a little over 1000 rounds of .45 acp. If I find some more 9mm at a fair deal, I think I'll buy all they have.

Well, at least you apologized, but it's people like you that are the problem, but it's a free country.

TBS, thank God I ordered a good stock of ammo last year, and in the last three or four, month's or so. I stocked up because I knew ammo was going to go up, and it did.

I'm going to miss shooting $00.19 (Fiocchi 9mm $00.16) rounds next year.

My WalMart has lots of 40cal, but no 9mm 38s 357s 45s and one box of 44mag and most rifle ammo is still strong.

Yeah... and I miss shooting $.10 a round Winchester White Box! The value pack (100 rounds) of 9mm was $10 a box. There was also an Oshman's that had a grand opening sale on WWB at $5 a box (50 rounds), but that was almost 8 years ago.

Sorry, but you gotta get it when you can. If you are in an emergency situation (maybe an impending hurricane), you don't apologize for hoarding water and food. Those who plan ahead will weather the storm a lot better than those who waited until the last minute. Maybe the next person would have bought them all. Who knows what is going to happen with the price or availability of ammo with democrats in the White House, House, and Senate? As long as funds permit, I will buy all the ammo I can, and I suggest that everyone elso do the same. Some gun bans start by drying up the ammo supply or by taxing the hell out of anything gun related. I don't want my guns to become expensive paper weights!

That's one of the reasons that I have invested in the A zoom Snap Caps. I discovered that dry firing helped me to improve my shooting abilites (trigger control, grip, reloading etc.) and conserved my ammo.

Dry fire and Airsoft are a great way to stay on top of things, especially if your Airsoft is a gas gun. Works just like the real thing and fits your holsters. To bad there arent more rifles that are gas operated.

I'll bet the guy who bought 25 boxes of 9mm ammo at the same time is the kind of person who runs to Home Depot and buys all the plywood and generators before a Hurricane and stockpiles em so he can rip his neighbors off when disaster hits.

Not me. I almost always buy at least 20 boxes at a time, cause thats how the cases usually come. :)

Been doing that for years. Thats also usually the cheapest way to go too.

If Walmart has cheap ammo, and I can get a bunch, and I get there first...doom on you. I got mine. :)

HI... That guy would be me. When hurricanes hit, I prepare and buy what I need. If people wait until there is nothing left, how is that my fault? I'm not buying extra to sell to anyone... Just what I need. While we tend to think of other shooters as "brothers in arms", in reality, I don't know them from Jack and I sure as heck don't owe them a thing. If someone gets there right after me and I haven't paid yet, I would let them buy a few boxes. Target ammo is more of a luxury rather than a necessity. There is higher priced ammo at gun shops or they could order online. If you found a good deal, would you really only buy a little so others could get some? Sorry, but I highly doubt it.

You can think what you will of me since you don't know me from Jack either. :p
