A little history since someone had a question about the link between watches and guns. There is absolutley a link in the late 1800's. The mass production techniques developed for the firearms industry crossed over to the watch making industry and lead to pocket watches being much more reasonably priced. This is turn allowed more people of limited means to own a good timepiece such as a Waltham or Elgin.
I have a fairly large collection of pocket watches in addition to guns. I find the precision of a fine pocket watch to be just as appealing as that of a finely crafted firearm.
