wally world ammo

I buy most of my ammo from Wal-Mart. The people working there are local, so in a way I am supporting the local people too. Most of my gun purchase are from local or at least in state people too. I go through too much ammo to not care about the price I pay. Where ever the price of ammo is the lowest for what I need that is the best place to go.

When the local gun shops didn't have any ammo in stock I was still able to get enough at Wal-Mart. Self Defense ammo I normally get at the LGS. I don't shoot much of that and at least they now have some on the shelf too.

I see a vicious circle in creation.

when Obama came into office, people snatched up all the ammo they could.

Demand exceeded supply.

Now that ammo is scarce, people are snatching up larger quantities in shorter amounts of time. Every time someone sees a few boxes of .45 for example, they buy all of them on the spot.

Demand further exceeds supply.

Soon fingers will be pointing for the lack of ammunition on the shelves.
Government is likely to be the easy scapegoat.

so let us all just clam down, Obama coming into office has not changed anything. people getting paranoid about ammunition, and buying up everything in sight is increasing demand. the supply of ammunition has not changed. the only thing is fewer people are buying more than usual, thereby decreasing the chances of the rest of us getting any ammo. and you know, as well as I do that the moment demand increases, price increases.

so tell you what, those of you who buy everything in sight when it becomes available, give the rest of us a break. We need ammo too. you have enough stockpiled, we need some too!

sorry for the rant, I just noticed a pattern.

I have not seen .45 auto on my LWM's (local wal-mart) shelves since I can remember. but the last time I went they had a whole bunch of 9mm, a good supply of .40 and two lowly boxes of .45 JHP's of the same brand I already had from my LGS.

I reload and buy ammo components from wherever I can find them cheapest but, I really do try to give my local gun shop's my business when I can.

I was at Wally World the other day and just wanted to see what the prices were on 9 mm and they had Federal 115g FMJ's for $9.97 and box of 50. I bought 2 boxes just to have some factory ammo to load in my gun when I am not target shooting.

I also noticed adequate supplies of 40 S&W at both stores

This, by admission, was one of the primary reasons I went with a .40 weapon....consistent ammo availability [not just at Wal-Mart, but online as well]. However, I am glad to see that 9mm is becoming more abundant these days.

Unfortunately, .45 auto still seems hard to come by. Hopefully, this will change sometime within this year.

Like wise_ my wally world always has 40cal Federal in stock for $13/a box of 50.
I bought the RWS one time when all the cheaper 9mm was out for $16.00. Liked it, went back and it was $13 same as WWB. I'll take the swiss stuff over WWB.
