Wal-Mart and SD ammo

I have noticed that my local Wal-Mart only stock target ammo for handguns. They do not stock SD ammo. Is this true at most Wal-Mart locations or just my local one?

Mine has the Winchester white box hollow points, but no speer, golden saber, hst's or any of the good stuff.

hi playboy,,they used to have personal defence,,,,and now it seems kinda spotty for any hand gun ammo

my boy was just at a wal-mart and he just bought the last boxes of 45 stuff and the guy at the counter (take it for what it's worth) told him that the ware house is out of all 45 stuff and the other stuff they have is also getting low

i am guessing that obama is the best gun salesman that has come down the pike for a long time

if you find ammo you need at wal mart you prolly should get it

A few months back my local Walmart had plenty of stock including Remington and Winchester HP's, Now they are sold out on most popular calibers completely, although there is plenty of WWB 9mm available. Even the web vendors are sold out on .38 and .380 of most types. Stinks

Ditto what Recon7 said. I go to gun shops for my SD ammo. Not to hijack the threat, but on that subject, does anyone have any info on the new Hornady SD loads?

The ones around here usually stock Remington UMC and WWB JHP's and FMJ's. in 9mm, .40, .45 and usually .38 and .357. Some stores have some of the 20 round Federal Personal Defense loads, but not all of them. (I've got 5 Walmart stores within 30 minutes drive.)

Lately the ammo shelves in all of them have been rather bare. Pistol and Rifle.

Depends on the Walmart. There are two in my town, one only has WWB .45 ACP and .357 Magnum HP's while the other has a bit more variety including Winchester Silvertip .41 Magnums (the latter Walmart is also one of the few that still sells guns).

i want to know who goes to wallmart? one of the prime examples on why the country is going to hell. just my opinion though.

Yup local Wally World only has a little bit of ammo left. They did restock just before Christmas though, on most things, particularly on 9mm.

As for those, not quite sure offhand if you and I are talking the same loads, I presume so. If so, I've tried the .45's through my Sig and LOVE them, as did my roommate.

Screw Disneyland Wal-mart is the happiest place on Earth.

where else can you get Ammo, a pillow, a shovel, and groceries all while your car is having its oil changed?

Ha ha... definately a record.

My walmart is low on everything. I've only ever noticed FMJs in the common calibers. (9/45/40/38). Most WWB and a few Rems. Occasionally, I've seen the Rem UMC big boxes.

Oh, and quinn...haven't you seen the commercials?
They make it simple by saying "If walmart doesn't have it....I don't need it!":D

(that is soooo screwed up)..

Not only is our local WalMart short on SD ammo, so are the gun stores around town also. Lots of .22 and birdshot shotgun shells sitting around...
The shelves and walls in our main gun store look like they were raided by a bunch of people who love guns. Or are afraid of what's ahead with "our" new President Noguna, er, um, Obama.

As a side note, the main gun store has a framed 8 x 10 of Obama on the counter next to the cash register. A homemade sign proclaiming him "Salesman of the Year" is next to his photo. :)

No

PD ammo West Coast of FL, nor West Knoxville. Just the WWB and UMC.

Too bad they don't carry some of the "high end" stuff.

walmart in chi town suburbs rules.............they have .38 special +p, .357 magnum, 45 acp, 40 S&W, cheese doodles and peolpe walkin around with vests that say "may i help you":D

Ahhhh...now we know where all the ammo is. It's in Chicago--where you can't own a gun! :)

ETA--unless you're an alderman or a criminal...but I repeat myself...
