Just hopping back on. Decided to hit the range today, took the trusty G-17 and a box of the Federal aluminum cased 9mm. Of course today's hits were pretty much on center where I wanted them, making me less eager to get a new pistol...
Side note: the Glock did NOT like the aluminum case ammo. In 50 rounds the extractor left 2 or 3 cases partially out of the chamber. It was blowing wind and about 14*, so I didn't trouble-shoot it so much as clear and continue. But the other boxes I bought will get tested in the 26 which has run fine on CCI Blazer in the past.
And let me say, of course I'm open to other suggestions! I have a bit of gun-buying ADD. Walk into a shop looking for a Colt 1911, come out with a Marlin .30-30. Decide I want to pick up a used Nylon 66, add a S&W M-19 instead. Go looking for a center fire semi-auto, find a S&W M-18 .22LR. The only times I can think of getting specifically what I "wanted" was when I picked up the G-26 out of a used case, and then when my Colt 6920 came home before getting married. Oh, and the Glock 17, which was a gift when I graduated high school.
