I'm not saying it's their fault there is prejudice against them. I'm stipulating the reasoning used by the racists when asked why they don't like that certain type/race of people.

Mr. BluesMan, I had already considered it done, sir. I'd say that pretty much all that needs to be said has been. Mr. Vang has been convicted, and that's pretty much that. :)

the 'greater freedoms' you speak of are almost entirely realized between 'sports hunters' and 'subsistance hunters'. sports hunters are out there for trophys to put on their walls. subsistence hunters are trying to put enough food away to last their family. and often the 'subsistance' areas are open to people who live within that game management unit, not just us brown-skins.


as far as racism is concerned, when a person forms an educated opinion based on thier life experiences, i can't fault them for that. its the uneducated opinions that bother me. you know, the people who have never met the object of their hatred?
 
I read ALL the posts so far and one thing bothers me...

Why is it that EIGHT men, one of whom is armed, can detain another lone man TWICE, make him fear for his safety by threatening him and cussin' at him while they are alone in the woods and that not be something to be mortally afraid over? Did I miss something or did everyone else miss that part instead?

If I"m detained once and let go that's fine. If those SAME people chase after me and hunt me down AGAIN and they have access to a gun, then I"m NOT going to be calm about it. Nor am I going to believe that these people had peaceful intentions.

Dead right or dead wrong, we will never know the real truth.

Agreed. And, that puts every racist in the "bother me" catagory. They haven't met the object of their hatred. That is, unless they've met every single _________ (insert nationality/race...etc) on the face of the earth and then formed their opinion.

Racism and Vang

Hi all,
If the attorney for Vang is as smart as I believe (just by letting him testify) this person to be, got him convicted in very short order (jury).
The fact that there is so much racial undercurrent about this on this thread leads me to believe (again) that this decision will be reversed and it will happen in appeals court.
If the undercurrent on race is as bad as they say in the area where he was tried they should have pulled the venue card (different area, county). Should have been in a different location, judge will be shown to be neglegent. If nothing else, the attorney knew this, pretty smart for Vang in the long run.

hey now it was your peeps that went around killing every other tribe they encountered 4000 years ago. is it any wonder they got on civilizations ****list? :D

anything that can survive 75 years in the village (a lot of those years in my greatgrandparents abandoned home) is worth hanging on the wall. if only to peeve off the other family members who insist it was promised to be given to them when the past patriarchs/matriarchs have passed away.
