You believe that the opinion of someone who has actually used different caliber weapons to stop people is a "myth", but the opinions of those who study the aftereffects are somehow more legitimate?
Too many people simply don't understand how science works, and this quote is a perfect example of that. It amazes me how often people prefer subjective anecdotal evidence over objective scientific analysis, and it also amazes me that there are so many people who don't know the difference between the two.

It should, but unfortunately there are a lot of people who can't tell the difference.

It's not amazing, it's human nature.

People believe what they WANT to believe.

They'll believe the most incredibly ridiculous stories if those stories agree with with their chosen opinion.......and they'll SWEAR that those stories MUST be true.

One of these is a subjective opinion, the other is objective evidence which has been verified, and is open to examination by any with an interest. To suggest that they are both opinions may indicate that you don't understand this distinction clearly.

I'm seeing the light: If someone in the military agrees with your opinion, they are an "expert" who can "readily assess" the situation. If they don't agree, their opinions are "myths".

This is a strong indication that you did not actually read and understand what I've written. When you make a comment which indicates otherwise, I'll happily respond in kind.
