User Names. What does yours mean?

My user name is a reference to Shakespeare's play, 'The Tempest.' Caliban is basically a creature of the night, cynically misanthropic about most things.
Favorite quote of his:
'You taught me language, and my only profit on it is that I can curse.'

Justin

echo 3 mike was my radio call sign when I was in the Marines. I was a lowly lance corporal, (E-3), and my last name begins with M, (mike, when you use military terms for letters, as in Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, ....). Original...probably not, but it's easily recognizable.

We deal in lead, friend.

Because I am one of the evil Germans by heritage and also some Scottish blood as well which some would also say is a little "evil" itself :)

Ober-because the Germans were one of, if not the first to deploy special op forces.

(K)ommando- Because I have been deployed in an armchair for years. ;)

Riddle of Steel, yeah baby!
wouldnt that be Valhalla?

What is good in life?

"To crush your enemies and see them driven before you and to hear the lamentations of their women."

"Praise be to the Lord my Rock,
who trains my hands for war,
my fingers for battle."
Ps 144:1

I first registered as cruiserman (into Toyota Land Cruisers), but I changed to EricM after someone asked a while back why many of us posted under a pseudonym. There are other Erics, so I added the M.

I go by Sabotage on all the online-games I play. Must people shorten it to sabo because its faster to type.

I choose sabo0717 because it turns out that
sabo0717 is the seriel # on my sw99 *&*.

Though of German decent and knowing how to speak some (hea... I can count to ten! ;) ) what does smeet mean (or can't you post it here?)

K80 is my favorite shotgun. Not too clever but then at the time I was on AOL and they kept rejecting all of the names I came up with.

I have since dumped AOL but not the Shotgun. Since most people have never heard of a K80 (including most gun folks) I still use it.

Republic Thunderbolt, I live near the place where the plane was built, factory is gone but the runway is now used for civil aviation. They have one sitting on the apron under the tower, don't know if it still flies.

I am no expert but I DO have an opinion.

Sorry for the confusion, Gunny. In German, that is what Schmit would sound like, but you said it was an abbreviation.

So stick the unabbreviated version out there, and let us take a crack at it. :D

I have the same problem - nobody gets mine right either. Kiefner is Keefnair, so most just call me Keef.

My name is Chad and I am in Texas. The spelling is like that cause it was the only way on hotmail that wasn't already used.

Self evident I suppose unless you think I like to wear a hat whilst procreating....Those old style guns are the kind I really love to shoot.

Gonzo; (Merriam Webster definition)idiosyncratically subjective.

I was given the name in the Army when just to prove how stupid I am. I took a bet and snatched the gym shorts down on my platoon Sgt. immediately prior to morning Company PT. The entire Company saw and I was subjected to UCMJ of course but even the First Sgt. laughed and told my I was "Gonzo"
my Extra duty was to clean "Top"s office for 1 week during which time he gave me the nickname and it stuck. 308 is my badge number
