United 93

And we also have America's best elsewhere in the Middle East, killing people who had no link whatsoever of any kind, way, shape, form, or fashion, however tenous, to the scum that murdered 3000 innocent Americans on 9-11. They're in Iraq.

Time will tell on that one. Even though the media and the government pounded into our heads that there was absolutely no relationship between Al Qaeda and Saddam, I think someone is hiding something and years later we will all look at the Iraq war in a different light. There is something just odd that we assumed Iraq had WMDs (and none were allegedly found even though almost every country thought they had them) but before the Iraq invasion the news media and Bush himself kept insisting that there was no relationship between Al Qaeda and Saddam. Why did they keep stressing that, even though Iraqi intelligence and Al Qaeda met, even though the first WTC bombing was on the anniversary of Iraq getting kicked out of Kuwait by US forces and the infamous Turkey Shoot? Why did ABC news release tapes of Saddam meeting talking about how a lone person can contaminate a water supply to kill thousands and how this is better than a military strike against America? Why where paintings of planes crashing into building found in Iraq? What exactly was at Salmon Pak and why were there so many foreign fighters there when US troop arrived (approx 900 captured or killed)? Did Saddam have direct control of Al-Qaeda and the 9/11 attacks...probably not. But would it be extremely hard not to fathom that Saddam hated the US after his defeat in the first Gulf war (he sent someone to try to kill Bush Sr). He could not attack the US directly without serious reprocussions, so maybe he befriended organizations with a similar hate toward the US. Currently Saddam is in prison and his military is gone. Al Qaeda operatives are still working in Iraq, so techinically we are fighting some terrorist in Iraq. They are attacking US vehicles with IED and they are trying to started a civil war according to intercepted communications. So to start the civil war who do they attack??? Saddams loyal Sunnis or the Shiites who Saddam hated??? What is Bin Laden and most of Al Qaeda??? Sunni or Shiite...Why everyone is a Sunni..how ironic..but again no relation between the two, that is what all the intel tells us and they are never wrong:confused:  . It will take years to sort out this stinkin mess.

You guys skip third grade?

"I seen it"
Aren't we trying to promote American values here? Speaking (and writing) English properly is a value that we can all benefit from. Try "I saw it" from now on. "I have seen it" is acceptable also.
I wanted to hate this movie. I went with every expectation of leaving angry and down about the whole thing. I was surprised, to say the least. It's very moving, and at times one may feel terribly sad and overwhelmed. I left feeling generally good about the courage of the passengers of flight 93, and generally miserable that their courage had any need.
Go see this film. It opens up old wounds, but you may derive strength from it.

Great movie. It was almost clinical in its portrayal of the events. Other than the Euro-wuss character, I felt the movie had no political commentary built into it at all. I was expecting them to show Bush's initial reaction but they skipped it. It was all about the folks who mattered that day.

"We saw it yesterday, and were very moved by how well it was done, and the fact that it reignited our intense anger at the cause. We have never forgotten or forgiven those responsible, and those that aided them, nor will we."

...And with responses like that, no one can tell me it isn't a propaganda piece.

Other countries deal with terrorism on a bi-weekly basis. It doesn't change their way of life. It doesn't detract from any essential freedoms.

Perhaps I will see United 93-- more than likely, I won't. I know the "story". A family member in the NSA seems to think things happened a little differently. Who knows?

IF I were to see the film, it would be AFTER Bush is out of office. This movie is coming out when the President's approval rating is at its very lowest, and tensions as well as possible conflicts are heating up with Iran as terrorism world wide increases ten fold thanks to the hostility we wrought through occupation. Like I said, if it's a good film, it'll stand the test of time and I'll see if after 08'.

It was shot by two French brothers who originally were shooting a documentary about firefighters in New York. And putting the fact that they're French aside, these guys did honor by the New Yorkers. I'd be proud to know these two guys. They had their two personal camcorders and where shooting footage of one ladder company in particular........
I will watch it again and see if there is any info I can post about how people can buy it or find it. If I remember correctly, it just says, "9/11" on the disc

I saw that documentary last week, rented it from Netflix. You can find it over there:

Hmmm.... you make a good point.

I think it was shot down if it was a real flight. On the other hand two emergncy landings took place in cleavland that morning. One was UA 93, at least thats what United told the media at the time.

The other was a Delta flight, two crash sites with no wreckage, two strange landings.

Search Cleveland airport mystery..

Oh, acording to the FAA flight 77 never existed on Sept 11.

I have not seen it yet, really dont care to relive the memories of that day. I think those guys were heroes because of what they did.
Does the movie give anything to funds for the families or other vicitms of 9/11?
In that case I might change my mind and go see it. If all the money is profit for the filmakers..I will pass.

I watched it live as it happened. I don't see the need to watch it again. Even if it's from the inside of the plane, I don't see a reason right now to watch it. I know what those b*stards did, and I know the jist of what happened in the planes from the details given out since it happened.

Universal donated 10% of all earnings from the opening weekend to the Flight 93 memorial:

http://www.nasites.com/cmprojects/p... to Flight 93 Memorial Announcement_FINAL.pdf

As to the stupid conspiracy theories.. I don't know whether it's sad or maddening to think there's folk out their so blinded by partisan hatred (or whatever else) to actually believe our countrymen were killed as some kind of Machievellian Bush plot..

Or if it was a real flight????

Maybe you'd care to call up their families and tell them you don't think the flight they frickin' died on was real.
Please, be my guest. The names of the dead are public record, as are their towns of origin. I'm sure it wouldn't be hard for you to call their wives, their husbands, their children and their parents and ask them where their loved ones are.

(And what Greg Bell said. :) )

Kaylee, can't say no to that, however United said flight 93 landed in cleveland, the gov said it crashed, who is telling the truth, who is not.. only one can be true..

Eghad.. THANK YOU.

Tommy... I'm waiting to hear back what Lisa, Todd Beamer's widow, and his two kids have to say about this whole "Flight 93 landed in Cleveland" thing. Here, give her a call. I'm sure you can reach her through her organization:

http://www.heroicchoices.org/contact.html

Maybe you can ask her where her husband really is, since the Bush Administration spirited him away and that really wasn't his voice on the cockpit recorder she heard.

Why don't you do that, and report back to us what she says?
