Turn in guns?

I feel that I am now in a win/win situation. If Bush wins then good. If Gore now wins it was illegal and I will not abide by any laws passed with his signature. Once the absentee ballots are counted in FL next week the election is over whoever the winner will be.No judge has anything to do with it! Its clear cut and when the FL Sec of State says its over its over! No more recounts and if Jesse and his rabble don't like it they can come and see me.By the way did you guys get a look at the FL Sec of State? WOW but I digress. But to answer the original question NO.

As soon as the deadline for turning in my guns has passed--I will be a felon for not doing so.

The supreme court has already ruled that felons don't have to register their guns as that would amount to self incrimination under the 5th amendment.

Don't look for the wholesale registration/confiscation scenario as a strong likelihood...more likely our freedom will die by a few thousand more small cuts. Like 1000% ammo taxation, or other insane annoyances that hassle the marginally interested out of the 'gun culture'

Im sure that we will probably have at least a 30 day "amnesty" period to turn in our guns before they decide to come get them.

As a favor to all of my fellow Americans,I'm volunteering to help y'all out.

Realizing that it may be quite traumatic for many gun owners to turn in their cherished arms and heirlooms, I offer my services.

I will come pick up your guns, for a small fee (to cover gas expenses)and take them to the local gun disposal area for you. That will save you the embarrasment and bad feelings associated with an action like this.

Of course...I would do this ONLY for my friends on TFL.

note: for a nominal fee, the class of dangerous "assault weapons" will also be handled. As an added service to TFL patrons, I will dispose of all of your ammuntion ...free of charge.

I'll probably start up business with the importation of comsoline, 55
fal drums and some other implements to keep metallic objects from
rusting.

I would begin to move my firearms to a gun friendly state. I'll keep 2 revolvers
1 for home and 1 for carry. I will then begin to look for a new job in the state where my firearms are being stored.
This is the best thing to do because of my family. I can't fight and run with my wife and 2 children in tow. It could get ugly. :(

I think I already elaborated on my position regarding registration and confiscation. You can read it again here:

It's a bit lengthy, so I won't copy & paste it, but my opinion on the subject has not changed.

lendringser-

Just read your column about confiscation/registration.
wow.
If it could make any difference, I think that should be printed out and mailed to every member of the House of Representatives, and every member of the Senate.
Again, an eloquently written column on the topic at hand.
