Triton 450 SMC / .45 ACP Giveaway

" If something is "free" that justs means you haven't found out how much it's going to cost you yet."

I have found that the above is the rule.

Remember the last time you gave away free ammo?
(well you didn't really give it away you just said you would)
You offered two free boxes per person over on Glock talk
and out of me and seven shooting buddies, none of us got a thing.
My e-mail was answered with a smug, semi insulting response.
I've since not spent a dime on any of your products and neither
has any of my shooting buddies. Don't offfer it if you don't intend to
follow through.

SteveSatch

Not to flame you or anything, but Fernando did send out the ammo. I got two boxes of 9mm and my Dad got two boxes of .40s&w. I was impressed with the Triton ammo I got and that's what I use in my HD guns and my carry gun. I used to use Golden Saber ammo in my carry gun, but I was not impressed with it at all. There was a time limit if I remember right the last time too; maybe you just didn't get your name in, in time.

Hi Jason,
I'm glad you two got your ammo! Most people didn't. I'm not talking about people who tried after the time limit either. They freely admit that they just stopped sending the ammo because they couldn't live up to the offer they gave. It's the way they handled it that pissed me off. Had they graciously told us they made a mistake and were very sorry but they can't do it I'd be OK with it. They just kept stopped sending ammo and didn't say a thing. They had our e-mail addresses and they could have posted on Glock talk. They just hopped no one would bring it up. When it was brought up they had a terrible attitude about it and that's why I won't give them my money. I'm sure it's great ammo. I had planned on trying it for free and using it as my defense ammo for all my guns if I liked it.....Customer service is where it's at. People forgive mistakes when the person who screws up is honest and cool about it. They were neither.

Hello Everyone,

We just got back in town. Tomorrow morning we'll be downloading all the ammo requests and see if the cut-off was hit. We'll post an update after that.

SteveSatch - I responded to your post on GlockTalk as I will here. Triton sent out hundreds of boxes of ammo in previous giveaways. Any time ammo has ever been given away on a board it was either under a time limit or quantity limit. If there was an instance where someone requested a specific bullet weight or caliber and we ran out of it by the time that person responded, sorry but that's the way it goes. It's a free ammo offer of limited quantity or time. Even when ammo is given away for free there will be those that complain. If you have more you wish to vent, feel free to call or e-mail me. The number at Triton is (845) 795-2332.

Fernando

Update

Just got done doing the tally - results are as follows.

.45 ACP - the 50 box count was reached on 26 April 2001 at 7:14 P.M. Anyone who sent an e-mail after that time, I'm sorry, did not make it.

450 SMC - We haven't reached the 50 box counts as of yet. Send in those e-mail if you have a gun set up for 450 SMC.

We'd like to thank all who participated. Due to the numerous e-mails received we will not be able to answer questions, the most common being "Did I make it?" , that may have been in the e-mail. I'm sure you understand.

Yeahhhh..I made it!

Just curious, what is the anticipated date for shipping the ammo and will those who did make the cutoff be notified?

I checked my time and date on my sent Email...4/26/2002 1:28:34 PM Central Daylight Time

Good Shooting

Fernando,

How can I get a Triton Ammo polo-shirt? Do you sell them online? By the way, I use the Triton Ammo .45acp lite for home defense. Great stuff!:)

Thanks Triton!

Just got my .450 SMC in 230 grain hollowpoint. An advertised 1150 fps in nickeled cases with small rifle primer. I'm going to set up a Commander sized 1911 with around a 30# spring set and and let a few rip.

Got my .45 acp today

A big thank you to Triton for the freebie, I'll be trying the .45 +p this weekend and depending on outcome will be using it for carry.

Made it or not - I think everyone should give Triton a big round of applause. They don't have to give away any ammo. I don't see Cor-Bon over here doing anything like this.
SteveSatch, you need to chill out buddy. Knock off the Sour Grapes act and get over the fact that you missed out one time on a free give away. It happens.

Mine was waiting for me when I got home last night!

If I like it can I arrange to get a pallet at this price? :D

Thanks for the Freebie. I've often thought that this is a VERY effective way to spend your advertising dollar. Cut back on a mag ad or too and put the product in the hands of the people!

My intent is to run this through a CZ97. Anyone know if that's within it's spec?

Hey Fernando

Hold the phone, man.... You said the first 50 people to "respond to this post" - I took this to mean, and I believe that anyone else would as well - that the first 50 people to POST A REPLY on this particular thread would get the ammo, which I did. I thought the "to take advantage of this offer, send an email...." part meant that after posting and thus accepting, we were to email you to *complete* the process of taking advantage of the offer. At the very least, your offer was ambiguous. I just sent the email today, thinking that, since I posted, I preserved my acceptance, and could email at my leisure. It was only your second post on this thread that more or less clarified the method for response was email only. I believe that you should definitely give the ammo to the first 50 posting people here (in addition to those you received emails on), regardless of when you got their email (including me), because of the ambiguous invitation. I believe that you may have edited your initial post to change it after I posted - it' still a little ambiguous, but I believe it was completely ambiguous before the edit....I could be wrong about the editing, but still believe I should get the ammo, due to the ambiguity which is still there, and since I never read your subsequent posts (why should I think I needed to read further, since I thought that all those posting were merely making their acceptance?). I know it's a generous, gratuitous thing on Triton's part, but the lack of clarity sure is a good way to hack people off....Now I see why Steve probably felt deceived.
