Alright guys. Appreciate everyone's input!!! I'm going to just get myself a regular M&P 9. I'll have that as my CCW. And I'll install the apex kit in there as well.

Keeping the 41, P226, and P229.

I won't feel as bad beating the crap out of the M&P. I shoot them well too. The thousand dollar guns need a break!

I'll post pics when I get it.

Worked out something with a friend for a new unfired one. Just trading a lower receiver and some other stuff.

I'm going to be "that" guy for a minute. It's a gun. It's meant to be worn and shot. Despite SIG's marketing efforts the Elite models really aren't rare enough to go up in value, IMO, over time as SIG is constantly cranking them out. An HK P2000 and an HK P2000sk make their way into my carry rotation at times, and they cost as much as $850 new. My HK45c was close to $1000. If it saves your life, I think it's money well spent whether it was $850 or a $170 Hi-Point.

Now if you shoot the M&P just as well, heck it makes no difference. But if you shot the SIG better and had more confidence in it too, then no reason not to carry it just due to cost. I went back to carrying M&Ps not because of cost, but simply the reset was so much faster and my follow up shots much better than my HK P2000, even if I didn't want to admit it at first.

Good stuff, enjoy!

Run the gun the gun you got! Money is tight so why spend more. That $1000 gun was built to be carried shot and shot again.

I used to be that guy until I've seen what I do to my carry guns lol. I'd still rather beat up my M&P or Glock over my SIG's. I'm not in a combat zone at the moment so if I can avoid something that my gun enthusiast side of the brain would prefer. I'll avoid it. ie: beating the ever living out of my SIG's. Can they take it? First hand. Yes. But no need to try it out again.

If I'm in the field and world is ending or something. I won't think twice. But to get scratches and lint? Small stuff? M&P.

Already almost had my SIG taken away once. I'd rather lose a Glock or M&P. I work till 3/4am now. Risk is higher again as it was years ago. Meh...

Honestly they are nothing but tools. Use the tool you are best with regardless of cost.

Yes run the P229.

Wilson because it as a better gun and life is short. In the end the odds are slim that I will ever have to use it. So I carry the ones I like best.

Newest one... I could carry a Izzy BHP but instead I carry this one.

But to get scratches and lint? Small stuff?

Something you admit is small stuff keeps you from carrying a gun? Scratches and lint? Oh dear...

Would you rather carry a Springfield Armory 1911. Or a Wilson Combat 1911?

You shoot them both equally.

If I shoot them both equally I'd wonder why I bought the Wilson Combat in the first place, but moving on from that the Wilson Combat. I'd honestly consider it a waste if I spent $3000 and never used it.

My dad and I don't agree on much, but we both love cars. We're always dumbfounded when we watch stories of barn finds that were owned for decades and driven maybe once a year. We ask ourselves, what was the point in buying it in the first place? We'd rather enjoy the heck out of it.

WVsig. You just struck a nerve brother lol. I LOVE Browning High-Powers. I would carry the hell out of that if I just had that muscle memory down of the safety. That's a beautiful gun!!! When did you get it?

Ugh. I'm in love. -.-

I had the base gun for about a year or so. It is an alloy BHP it weights as much as a Glock 17. I sent it to Don Williams and he did his magic. Custom thumb safety, Harrison 1911 sights, Garthwaite flat trigger, etc... Finished in NP3 and Rogard.

I'm looking for another Browning High-Power. There's a salesmen on gun broker named "cdisales" that has a whole mess of BHP's.

Didn't know they made them with alloy frames. Since when?

They did a run of them for the Austrian Border Police in The 80s. CDI sales is Coles distribution they are imported Israeli guns for the most part. They make good shooters but most have been refinished because they were rough. He is a solid seller and if you pick a good one for pics you get and excellent shooter at a fair price. There was a time he sold better condition ones with original finishes but those days are gone.

PM me and we can talk more about sources for good commerical BHPs in better condition.

Got it ;)

I am still confused as to why a person would want the input of unknowns on a decision that potentially could involve a personal life saving response? I do understand wanting to solicit input on a particular weapon's features or reliability but that is not what is considered here as the OP really knew what he wanted all along. In my personal case my concealed carry pistol came about only after I physically evaluated my choices and determined what was best for me....my decision not some unknown in Portzebie Maine. The fact my best friend gave me the pistol had absolutely nothing to do with my decision. :-)
