Thinking about getting a 9mm for teaching purposes. Which one?

Which 9mm would you get to teach new shooters?

Well, given the list you have I would vote for the Glock or the CZ as a trainer 9mm.

I've seen a couple of votes for the Hi-Power but everything they could learn from a Hi-Power they can learn from a 1911 as far as weapons familiarity goes.

The CZ has a naturally ergonomic grip that I would think would be good for newcomers and is generally a good quality gun at a great price. On the other hand, you've got a couple of DA/SA guns already so that might be too much redundancy.

The Glock would expose them to the "safe-action" system and is a nice, decent, durable handgun that can serve both beginners and seasoned shooters well. A little pricier than the CZ though.

After some thought, this came down to a no brainer. I own most of the pistols you listed. The finalists were Glock and Walther. My criteria for this decision was ergonomics. You try to give a pistol to a novice that doesn't fit and you run the risk if chasing him/her away!! The interchangable grips on the P99 make this the best demonstration/trainer pistol. It also makes a excellent carry gun!! :D

cz75b sa w/ kadet kit

single action (consistant trigger)
ambi safety (can shoot lefty)
steal frame
low recoil
no limb wristing issues
good feal / grip
points nicely
22lr kit is the same weight at the 9mm, consistancy
22lr kit uses same safety as 9mm (? does the 92?)
22lr kit slide locks after last shot
cocked hammer, added safety, if its not cocked it wont fire
dont laugh but the trigger guard is nicely spaced and shaped to form a natural rest for the trigger finger.
trigger is long for a SA, not great for competition but good for teaching

and last but not least cheap (its easier to convince them to purchase one and shoot there own)
