I have a lot of catching up to do first, only watched 3 episodes. The one on 22 practice, intro to steel challenge, and the one on strong hand/weak hand stance. All were excellent and I practiced some of what I learned yesterday on the strong/weak hand shooting yesterday at the range. It did make a difference
In the next few weeks, we'll have part two of Match DQs, an episode on prepping for Steel Challenge, and an interview with USPSA President Phil Strader. Thanks for watching.
Episode 102 - Match DQs (Part Two)
The boys are back together for a two part episode on Match Disqualifications. The shooting sport is divided into two groups, those that have been DQed and those that will be. It is something that happens very rarely but when it does, can cause a person so much grief. Hear all the horror stories Rick, Larry, Caleb and Steve have to share about match DQs, both from their perspective and from having doled out the penalty.
Episode 103 - Interview with Phil Strader, President USPSA
Every year, the USPSA office in Burlington, WA hosts a Christmas party where they invite local USPSA members to visit their offices and celebrate the holidays, with lots of food, beer and wine. If you remember, Rick and Steve were at the party last year to interview Dave Thomas (Episode 53), the now outgoing executive director of USPSA.
This year, we're lucky enough that Phil Strader, the new President who took over the reins from Michael Voigt early this year, flew in to attend the party. Naturally, we jumped at the chance to get him on the show.
Episode 104 - Celebrating Two Years
The guys are back once again, this time to celebrate Two Years of the PowerFactor Show. That is 104 weekly episodes. We never knew we'd do so many or last two years but thanks to all our viewers and their feedback, it has kept us going. In fact, if we continue to get support, we will be recording at least another 52 episodes, so keep the emails, comments and donations coming.
Our sincere thanks to all our loyal viewers and to the sponsors Rainier Ballistics, Hodgdon Powders, Safariland and JPL Precision.
Here's to another good year!! Happy Holidays to everyone!

Episode 107 - Kitsap "ProAm" Steel Match
Larry heads to the very first "ProAm" type falling steel match organized by Matt Mitchell, one of our local shooters. It is a very fast paced and humbling shooting experience that's really fun. Everyone should try it!
Episode 108 - Dillon SL900 Shotshell Reloading
Steve just picked up a brand new Dillon SL900 shotshell reloader and went to work churning out custom loads using it. He spends almost an hour walking us through the process, his thoughts, some tips and demonstrates how shotshells are reloaded.
Episode 109 - Larry's First IDPA Match
Larry is a USPSA guy and has never shot an IDPA match in his life. Recently Rick challenged him to give it a spin and he did. Here they are talking about his experience shooting IDPA and reviewing the match footage.
Changed my grip style slightly last time at the range due to one of the episodes and really tightened up my groups on double taps and got better with transitions. Thanks a bunch!
Episode 110 - Fun Steel Match
Larry and Rick head to the range to try out the Steel Challenge like match that is setup by a local club, called Fun Steel. The rules are similar as it is not a sanctioned Steel Challenge match but with all the same fun.
Episode 105 - IDPA Order of Engagement
Rick's been wanting to talk about this for a long time. The order of engagement in IDPA is somewhat confusing especially for new shooters so he demonstrates the different kinds of engagement orders that are available and talk about grey areas.
Episode 111 - Gun Control and Competition Shooting
There's a lot of craziness these days that's happening in the United States politics pertaining to gun control. Rick and Larry spends some time to talk about the impact it could have on the competition shooting and what it would mean to your beloved sport if the anti-gun advocates get their way.
Episode 112 - Being a Lefty
Rick is a lefty as most of you would have known already. That together with decades of competition shooting experience, gives him a unique perspective to discuss the considerations and limitations of being a left-handed individual in a sport that's primarily dominated by right-handedness.
Episode 113 - Sporting Clays
Sporting Clays is akin to the sport of golf or as many would say, IPSC for Shotguns. "Stage" designs are variable and the sport is very fun to shoot. Steve and John meet up with Dave Jefferey and a bunch of great people at the Granite Falls Sportsmen's Club, to take us on a tour of what a typical Sporting Clay match looks like.
Episode 114 - Scholastic Steel Challenge
SSC provides the opportunity for young adults aged 12 to 20 to participate in the exciting and challenging family sport of “speed steel," and do so in a supportive environment taught by trained and supportive adult coaches focusing on the safe handling and use of handguns.
SSC's competitive format is based on the Steel Challenge, the nation's most successful handgun competition. We have adapted the format to provide a safe yet action packed competition, one that both neophyte and experienced shooters will enjoy.
Rick and Larry head to the first sanctioned Steel Challenge match held at the Renton Fish and Game Club recently to give it a go.
