THIS IS A WISH LIST - RIGHT?
Glock is a near to prefect as you can get in my book, but there are still a few changes I would make – something along the lines of Glock with XD/Sigma/STI hybrid characteristics.
XD/Sigma – Pistol can be narrowed a bit while maintaining capacity by going to metal magazine like the XD and get the better ergonomics of the Sigma. That is about the only thing worth a damn on a Sigma
XD - Trigger face more like the XD with a dished grove in the inside center of the trigger guard to prevent pinching.
XD/1911 – Grip safety that does not affect the trigger pull. I like the XD’s narrow unobtrusive grip safety that makes the gun truly drop safe and ensure safe holstering by raising your thumb over to the back of the slide. No matter what might accidently catch the trigger in a fall or when holstering, it can’t go bang unless it depresses the grip safety at the same time.
Glock Gen II and Sigma - Loose the square trigger guard (Sigma) and thumb rest indentations (Glock Gen II)
STI – modular poly body with frame insert. This would have number of benefits. You could have different configuration bodies by color, grip vs dust cover length, grip style, accessory rail vs no rail. In addition a fat version of the frame could be made that has to be reduced down just a bit to fit in the slide grooves. Allows a tighter gun and eliminates some trigger creep inherent in a Glock. Sort of like the new Sig 250.
STI – optional manual safety that optionally stays disengaged once the action starts, meaning it must be push in slightly from the other side go back to safe. Sounds a little nuts I know, but it means you would never have to worry about the manual safety accidently being engaged in the heat of battle when you don’t want it to. Manual safety would have to, when engaged, allow cycling of the slide for chamber check and unloading
Factory trigger stop build on a poly bushing that would stop the trigger after striker release, but still allow additional pressure to fire it should it shift a little forward.
Rear sights moved all the way completely to the rear, adjustable and with a hard angle up front for one handed slide cycling. I don’t give a flip about how smooth it is to reholster.
Friction adjustment screw that would allow the user to set his gun up with non drop free magazine features. This device when properly adjusted would only allow the magazine to freely drop about one inch when the mag release button is pushed. Beyond that, it must be physically pulled from the mag well against about 3-lbs of friction. If a mag was accidently released it would still be in the gun when you figured out and had a misfire. It would be there for you in your Roll Tap & Rack.
Nose would be reduced down like a Browning Hi-Power.
Progressive rifling, meaning the rifling doesn’t twist at all for about the first two inches and then gradually increase up to the required twist rate within the next two inches. Additionally the straight rifling starts off low and then gradually rises before turning This should increase velocity and lower chamber pressure. Barrel should also come from factory electrically or extruded polished and cryogenically treated.
Factory .22 conversion kit with high capacity magazines and sight cuts exactly like center fire slides.
Grip plug as factory part.
Frame dished out slighted at mag release button to allow thumb better acces while still protecting button
Must retain Glock's ability to remove mag in doubl feed without locking slide to the rear.
Plactic grips would cost $25 each in what ever configuration you wanted or color you wanted, and
