The "Perfect Pistol" - how would you design one?

I had the perfect handgun in VietNam, . . . would like to have one here.

Trouble is, . . . can't find a big enough cow to make an IWB holster for an M60.:D:D:D

May God bless,
Dwight

I want a 12g pistol with 19 round capacity, low recoil, the size of a P-3AT and weighing 15oz or less loaded. Oh, it must be match accurate with slugs also.

I whould start with a solid tungsten carbide frame,(infact all metal parts whould be comprized of tungsten carbide) built close to the same specs' of the Springfield XD40 subcompact, with the exception that it be chambered in .357 Sig. 9rds in the clip and one in the pipe whould be more then sufficient for my ammo needs, not to brag but I'm one hell of a marksmen. Two extra clips and I'd be ready to take on the world.(BTW,tungsten is very heavy, much more so then steel;so if in the unlikely event I have expended all my ammo and my target still poses a threat I could resort to beating them with the gun itself.)

My perfect pistol was manufactured at one point, and then they went out of business. And then back into business........And then back out of business again........And in a few months, back into business again. I would really like a 1911 style .357 mag. Dan Coonan made the Coonan .357, but like I said, in/out/in/out. The originals are too expensive, So I'm goung to try to pick up a new one when they come out later this year.

The Grendel P30 is the inspiration.

Imagine an ordinary looking single action steel framed .22 lr pistol. Nothing terribly fancy. The kicker would be a 30 round flush fitting magazine, with extended 50 round magazines available.

It would have good sights, a good trigger, and a relatively sharp grip angle since I find it more comfortable.

45 ACP: with...you know what really I just like the 1911 the only changes that I would do is make it easier for me to eject the mag. Or even the 45 ACP HP is a nice idea just what ever you do get rid of that useless mag disconect!

9mm: A combo of a CZ-75 and a HP with the SA of the HP,the use of the early steel of the 75 and ammo capacity, give it Novac sights, and lastly move the mag eject (see a pattern?:D)

357mag: Take a blued N frame S&W increase the amount to 8 (if possable), add easy to see non adjustable sights, ballance it so that its not so barrel heavy, give it nice dark walnut standard grips, and make it a 4 in.

38 Sp: Take a blued K frame S&W ballance it, give it nice dark walnut standard grips, and make it a 4 in....in fact I've already got that never mind.

It's already been designed.

It's called the Smith & Wesson Model 19 revolver, 4" barrel, .357 Magnum chambering.

Nothing else even comes close.

A P7 in .45

Kind of like....this? :D

9mm

3 barrels

each barrel has a 30 rd magazine

16 in barrel or less

shoulder stock which is removable

Basically 3 glock 17s somehow connected with a single trigger mechanism which causes all 3 to fire at once. The side guns would be angled and a convergance point would be made to be adjustable for max damage.

Hey, it could happen!

I thought about this for all of 30 seconds. A double stack hard chromed Kahr. Same look except fatter of course, same trigger, same manipulation, no manual safety, lots more rounds, same reliability.

And of course, the other requirement is a companion carbine which uses the same mags and any parts interchangeability is a major +.

I am pretty easy and realistic. I just want some slight variations on existing models.

1 - Ruger GP100 3inch 7 shot

2 - Single stack Glock 26

3 - Smith and Wesson 325 Nightguard without that friggen lock. For that matter all Smiths sans lock

4 - Small frame 6 shot revolver in the vein of the Colt Detective

John Moses Browning and Ed Brown got together to build my Kobra Karry which is the perfect pistol!! So I don't have to figure out what to build or change as they already did!!

It's more a cartridge-pistol combination that I want:

.60 caliber, 250 grain bullet at 900 fps (heavy, wide, and slow) in a 7+ round, single-stack autoloader.

Also, I'd like a sub-compact 9mm (Keltec or Karh-size) that can be carried cocked and locked.
