The Percussion Cap shortage?

Stopped at the local gander mountain last night and they must have had at least 30 tins of Remington 10s out on the display rack. I bought 5. I check there occasionally and they usually don't have a single tin.

I'm starting to get the feeling that we may have to get used to $6.00/100 percussion caps.:(

Time to re-invent the Tap-O-Cap®?
 
Weidners has CCI #10s in stock for $41/1000 as of this posting. :)


As mentioned... they're still makin' em and not nearly as many people turned to hoarding bp supplies as they did centerfire shells. I still got 6 or 8 tins of caps here now. I might could use 1 or 2 thou, but I'm not going to mortgage my house to fill my sock drawer with caps. We'd be right back in the shortage again! ;)

$41/1000 was pretty much the going rate before the shortage.

I remember $17.50 or so per 1000, but then, you can't buy $2/gallon gas anymore either.
 
This weekend, Gander Mountain had enough Remington #10 and #11 to stock any reasonable shooter for a very long time. Bit on the pricey side though.
