The One Gun You Would Never Let Go

sounds dumb, but the last weapon in my small arsenal to take the long road away from home would be my busted up "single shot" Glenfield model 60 .22lr.

I say single shot because when it ejects the spent casing no longer clears the action and it jams. So you have to dig a bent up casing out of the action with a small screwdriver. Its worthless, except for the fact that it was my father's first rifle, and when it comes down to it, i can feed my family of 5 with it if i have to. From squirrel to deer, once i get to that low, ill be hunting.

I would have to say a model 54 carbine .30 W.C.F. My father-in-law gave it to my wife and the gun shoots great, but most of the time I take it out to look at.

My S&W 64, was my fathers, it's a stainless 6 shot snubby. It's not my favorite gun or my daily carry. I did carry it for a while till I got my Colt Government 380. I'll hand the Smith down to one of my sons, I have a few shotguns from my dad too. I couldn't get rid of those either.

That would be my wife's 357

Smith model 66 4" bbl pinned and recessed. Beautiful gun and shoots great. Started out as mine but after she shot a few hundred rounds it got transferred by edict...."That is MY gun!." I listen real well to her. :D

Gun smith tuned it up, cleaned it up, and the double action trigger pull is like soft butter.

The Remington model 31 pump 12 ga that belonged to my grandfather. The last two to go before that one would be the Marlin 60 and H&R .410 he bought me when I was a kid.

My S&W Model 19 4". I bought this gun new about 25 years ago, and through thick and thin I come back to this 6 round 357 mag as my go-to home defense gun. I enjoy my other guns but overall this seems like the best balance of a good caliber, absolute reliability, adequate number of rounds, and just the right feel. I added a Crimson Trace laser and is the only gun I keep loaded and ready at all times.

Thanks, TX Hunter.

My oldest is going to use it hunting this year, and I told him to be very careful with it. I didn't know it was rare until I posted back in April. I wonder if there is a way to find out how many Carbine .30 W.C.F.'s were made?

Skidder

I bet the easiest way to find out would be to contact Winchester, or what is now FNH USA, they might know.
Its a Winchester, but is not far removed from the Mauser.
Great Rifle, I hope your Child has a good hunting season with it. :)

I'm thinking it would be a toss-up between my S&W M66 and my Kimber Eclipse Pro II.
The Kimber is my EDC, but the M66 might be a perfect SHTF, put something on the table gun.

I would never get rid of my Ruger SR9 because it is my EDC AND because it was my very first gun. I would never let my husband get rid of his Glock 36 because it was his first ever Father's Day present...and it rocks!

Well, having been down those roads before, I know as long as I have my guns I'm not going to get hungry. So starving ain't a worry.
But, OK. I'll bite. I'd keep my old 1894 Winchester.

My mom's old Beretta 418 .25 auto. I think it was one of the first handguns I've ever fired and she used it for home defense while she was on this earth. Never ever ever will I get rid of it.
