The handgun you were most DISAPPOINTED in?

I'm very surprised that...

no one has yet to chime in about how disappointed they were with any particular Taurus product, esp. the PT145 or PT1911. Looks to me like some of the same problems others down Taurus for, a good number of "major, name brand" gun makers have also.
Now, to answer the question at hand, the gun I was most disappointed in was a S&W 457. It would stovepipe on lower power practice ammo (WWB, Speer Lawman, Blazer), but more powerful ammo was not recommended on a regular basis. On top of that, the slide mounted safety was gritty and difficult to flick off quickly. I traded it in about ten months later.

Taurus PT140

I wanted a G27 but didn't have the money b/c I was a poor law student. The Taurus seemed like a good economy small piece. I had so many problems with it even after a trip to the factory for warranty work. I finally traded it in to an FFL. The total expenses and time wasted ended up costing more than the Glock would have. Lesson learned: "The cheap guy pays the most in the long run."

Beretta Bobcat 22LR. Bought new, and even after 2 trips back to Beretta for "tweaking", I don't remember ever getting through a full magazine without a FTF.

POS.

Taurus .22.mag. Followed by taurus .44 spl. These were purchased many years apart, and I had hoped that Taurus had risen above the level of absolute crap. They didn't and haven't.

Browning BDA

Made by Beretta. Lousy sights, grip too fat, gritty trigger. I had ordered it sight unseen and got burned. Traded it for an XD compact 9mm; same size, more rounds, very reliable.

S&W model 60 2" revolver. There is nothing wrong with it. It is a good
durable small rev. I bought it for my wife and she had a hard time with
the DA trigger. I tried it too. Those small rev,. looks good but not very
confortable to shoot, specially w/ .357. That is a mistake and will be
traded for something more comfortable to use.

Taurus. I bought a NIB Taurus M85. Had read a lot of positive reviews and had really bought into the Taurus is no longer a bottom feeder myth. With that said, I found a M85 that felt good, had a nice finish and had a nice trigger pull so dropped my hard earned cash on it. Damn thing seized up after a couple of hundred rounds. Cylinder and forcing cone gap was too close and the cylinder refused to rotate. That was my first and last Taurus. After the fact of course, I have read that this was a fairly common problem with Taurus. Lesson learned.

Horses and Snakes

Colt Python; just did not work for me; no failures or other "objective" issues; just not a good fit.

Back in the mid 80's I bought a Llama 1911 clone. It lasted less than a full mag. As I remember, I got through 6 rounds and the ejector broke off. The only thing that saved the day was the Lady running the range let me use her Colt 1911.

What a great lady.

I keep seeing AMT mentioned in these types of threads. Anywho, the worst gun I bought would be a Beretta Cougar in .40. It jammed all the time and shot several inches low.

FEG PA-63 - Absolute POS

SKYY CPX-1 - Another POS

Walther P-22 - Yet another POS

Beretta 92FS - No soul whatsoever

Springfield XD - Had 4 of them - every one of them was innacurate

Colt Detective Special - Beautiful piece, with a crappy stacking trigger

It's funny, but I was reading the posts and realized that I have several of the choices on here. A couple of them are my carry guns, so obviously I love them or I would not trust my life to them. It really goes to show you that all companies have some bad ones slip through and everyone has different tastes.

Walther PPK/S first one i bought was used, thing would jam up as often as it would fire, i thought for sure i had just gotten a used lemon, so i bought a brand new one, only to get more of the same from it.

All of the other guns ive bought since then... no problems at all.

Beretta 9000s 40 S&W-----FTF, when it would fire, you had to drop mag, clear gun and put screwdriver down muzzle to remove fired case. May have been a lemon, but sure was POS lemon!

Kimber. I have a Grand Raptor that has been back to Kimber and you still couldn't hit your truck with it at 50 yds with a full clip. I had my smitty fix it at my expense. The only difference between a Kimber and a rock is the cost.

My Bersa Thunder .380. Lots of people just love them. I did too, except for the pesky habit it had of spitting hot burning gunpowder on my hand every time I shot it . I traded it in for my m37 and never regretted the change.

Well, actually, that's not quite true. Every once in awhile I'm tempted to get another one because so many people who own them have said "wow, I've never had THAT happen" that I figure it must have been just mine. But the m37 is such a great little pocket/CCW gun that I can't really justify it.
