The handgun you were most DISAPPOINTED in?

dan wesson razorback 10mm.

i spent months reasearching the best non-glock 10mm platform.

the dan wesson rz10 was said to be the best asside from custom guns.

after months of saving i got one. it went back to the factory to get a laundry list of stuff fixed, including constant ftf/stove piping, and nonfunctioning thumb safety.

while there i had them install a front f/o sight, which fell off in less than 100 rounds, because it was not fitted or pinned.

it also still jams frequently.

it was the most i have ever spent on a gun, and the regret is that much greater.

Without a second thought: Kimber Polymer Custom. Biggest overpriced POS I ever had. Tried different mags and ammo and still had FTF's and FTE's I may have been better off throwing it at the target!

Glock 36

After many years rejecting Glocks I finally bought a G36 in 2003 for cc. The only ammo it will feed is hardball Remington Golden Sabre and Powerball. It was a disapointment after so many years listening to the hype.

I've had the same experience with mine. I found that taking a dremel to the feed ramp and polishing it up helps tremendously.

Also, Federal's Expanding Full Metal Jacket ammo works very reliably in it.

Desert Eagle .44 mag. Fell in love with the looks and even for a small framed guy, it was not difficult to shoot, but was never able to get it to feed reliably without jamming. Very finicky about ammo and grip. It was a beautiful gun, but essentially a safe queen. I traded it in after 9 years on a Sig P229 SCT which is obviously much more practical, totally reliable with ANY ammo, and is now my go-to HD weapon.

Phoenix .22 Semi-auto

Two trips to the mfgr and it still won't fire consistently,,,

This is weird because everyone else I know or read about loves theirs,,,
Mine is now a $100.00 paperweight.

Para Ordnance Warthog Nighthog model.....45.....wanted that dang thing to work but it had constant feed/eject issues. it got traded.

Polish TT33 from SOG. Mismatched serial numbers, some kind of fuzzy looking paint finish, but only on flat surfaces, and not around slide release, take down, pin, trigger guard, or close to grips. Looks almost like some sort of over spray, but won't come off. Left grip is Romanian with star, right grip is proper plain Polish. Feed ramp of barrel had rough burs on the bottom causing it to not feed about every other round. I should have sent it back to SOG but I kept it. Polished up the ramp, and will give it another try this week. The Romanian I bought from them last year is great. Accurate and reliable. I just got a Yugo Mod 57 Tok from them last week. Very happy with it. I'll give it a try out this week also. It's just part of the game with milsurps. Some diamonds, some pieces of glass.

This one -

I really liked it at first. I even drove through a snow storm to pick it up when it came in. But, the longer I owned it, the more I found that I didn't like.

It wasn't anything major, I think I am just really, really hard to please when it comes to 1911's. I've traded or sold more than I've kept over the course of the last 10 or 12 years.

I've since determined that I'm not going to spend any more money on 1911's - unless it's a Baer or a Wilson.

So a user made a list of every Manufacturer and model listed up to that point in this topic. But how about frequency of model? I think I've read about more Sig Mosquito's in this topic than anything else thus far...

H&K's have also gotten a lot more responses than I personally expected.

My Ruger Mark III 22/45 stinks.

I have the blued 5.5 inch Bull Barrel. I like it less then any semi auto I have ever owned. It jams all the time. It fails to eject often. It has been overall a disapointing purchase. Yes I do clean and lube the gun. About every 500 rounds. Yes I buy quality ammo. Usually bulk packs from Wally World or Cabalas. Federal blue box 525 works best. Remington and Winchester the worst also Blazer is ok. I have concidered unlawering my gun to make it reliable but not sure it's worth it. I would purchase another Mark II OR III 22 anytime they are great.

Walther PPKs...Wanted one as a kid because of the Bond films. Finally got one and never liked the ergonomics nor the way the slide would take a bite out of the web of my hand. Today I own a Bersa Thunder .380. Should've bought one a long time ago and saved myself the grief.:o

most disappointing

I have read through all the posts above. I understand that every manufacturer can produce the occasional "lemon". Notwithstanding, if you limit the comments to center fire models, the overwhelming majority of adverse comments relate to SA pistols from nearly all major manufacturers. By contrast there were few complaints (of malfunctions) about S&W revolvers. Given the volume of 11 pages of comments I find that fact interesting.

Taurus PT-22. Jammed on the last round in the magazine every time whether i fully loaded, half loaded it, whatever, didn't matter. Traded it in on a Star Firestar. Also, although I've never owned one, I've had several friends have troubles with their Glocks jamming until they polished the feed ramp, but after they've done that, they never had problems out of them again.

Update: The Polish TT33 worked fine today. Smoothing and polishing the feed ramp did the job. A little adjustment of the rear sight, and it is hitting point of aim. Still not a good of groups as my Romanian, but acceptable. I'm still not thrilled about the appearance, but I can live with it if it a good shooter.
