The handgun you were most DISAPPOINTED in?

Some swear by Sigs, some swear by Glocks, some by Smith & Wesson, and some swear at all of them, and buy only Colts....what ONE handgun have you been most disapointed in? Why?

Was there hype from some one, or perhaps a magazine article that lead you to purchase the handgun, then be disappointed in it?

Beretta Tomcat

It is a good gun but I was very disappointed in it personally. I had read great things about it but it did not live up to the hype. I just thought it was too thick for what it was. I didn't like the way it felt in my hand, or the way it carried.

My brother in law's High Point, 9mm. Nothing happend when I took off the safety and pulled the trigger.

I pulled the trigger again, . . . nothing happened.

I let off the trigger and was just holding it when it finally went ka-boom.

Yeah, . . . you're right, . . . I wouldn't own one.

May God bless,
Dwight

Colt Govt 1911

I bought it NIB about 1982. It was my first Colt purchase and I wanted to have a full size Colt Govt just like the one my father had used for his own HD needs when I was a little kid.

The gun never was right even after trips to the local Colt authorized shop and my best efforts. It would jam and stove-pipe cases on a regular basis.

I traded it off and never bought a Colt again. :(

My Glocks were my big dissapointment. they went bang but thats aobut it. Just my .02. I like my XD better by far and my M&P most of all

Glock 21. Points, fits terrible for me.

Never owned it. Just have access to various models of Glocks and shoot them frequently. Some friends swear by them. Never have been disappointed in any of my purchases, but I don't own an armory of guns. Also, I'm willing to bet my number is up soon...

S&W J frame .22s,

I had two different J frame .22 Smith & Wesson revolvers. Both were crap. neither was accurate, neither could be worked into a good trigger pull, neither were what I would consider reliable.
I now own two S&W j frame .38s and they are great, smmoothe actions and accurate. (among many other S&W products)

That's easy, the Sig Mosquito. With the Sig name I expected a good shooting, reliable pistol. The Mosquito is a well documented mess.

S&W model 59. A real P.O.S.

Chamber so "out of round" that fired brass could not be forced into sizing die. Trigger sucked. Accuracy non-existant. Would only feed ball ammo, and not even ball all of the time.

I couldn't believe that S&W put their name on it.

Two pistols come to mind. The very Loooooooooooooog trigger pull on a KT-P11 and a Rock Island Armory 1911 that had a hair trigger. Both guns were great shooters but just not what I was looking for in a pistol.

Smith & Wesson "New" 520....I wasn't dissapointed till I owned my first Taurus, then I realized new Smiths arent worth the price difference.

Several for me;

1. Ruger Mini-14; 14 min of angle

2. S&W 617; Lead spitter, wouldn't stay on a pie plate at 25yds.

3. Colt 1991A-1 ; Horrible trigger, not real accurate for a single shot.

4. Ruger Mark II, Bought on the cheap [very cheap] to resell. Shouldn't
have shot it. Scarey accurate, still have it. Already had one.

5. Browning BDM; Loved the size and shape for carry, worst trigger pull
ever. Two different gunsmiths couldn't get it down more than a pound or
two. It was just over 14# after the work.

6. Had the hots for a Sig 226 until I handled one. Felt like two bricks glued
together. Fell for Gunzine hype on that one ! Fortunately the dealer who
ordered it for me let me off the hook.

And so it goes, there are more but enough is enough.

Kimbers. I had nothing but trouble with them. A very expensive learning experience, with the costs of the pistols, mags from various manufacturers, and the shipping costs to Yonkers, multiple times.

I enjoy, and appreciate my Colt and S&W 1911's all the more. Regards 18DAI.

Sig 229 9mm....

I bought based on reputation, never felt right in my hand, even after putting on Hogue grips. It was always 100% reliable for the months I owned it but the biggest problem was accuracy. Maybe I got a rare Sig lemon but I couldn't get any consistant groups on paper.

H&K usp .45
I saved for so long , I thought it would be the best handgun Id ever buy I was so determined to shoot it accuratly.
I just never took to it , always felt uncomfortable.
After pretending to love it for almost a year I sold it , after all the time and $ spent I felt so stupid.
If thats not bad enough a few years later I was offered a good deal on one and figured maybe I didnt give it a fair shake.
Well I kept it for about 3 years then I traded for a Springfield 1911.
Somthing about the 1911 works for me.
Im just about to buy a Glock 19 my first plastic gun since the H&K inccident , I feel like Im gunna regret it.
