The CZ pistol bayonet

I want one. Really, I do. How do I get one?

Seriously though, aside from having it on a home defense weapon (keeps bad guys from pushing your gun out of battery and it accomodates a laser/light unit) what is the point of it. You can't really consider it for street use because it would be next to impossible to conceal and how exactly would you get it unholstered in a meaningful amount of time. Not to mention that a holster has to be custom made (translates as expensive) and would be quite large.

I can see it being useful for close quarters combat. Why shoot 'em when you can slice 'em open. In such a case you would be alright with a drop down leg holster, but even then that is a long weapon and a lot of holster to clear.

Tell me what you think. Anybody actually bought one? Can it be mounted on any pistol with a rail system? Weaver or picatinny or both?

The CZ bayonet is a riot. But I don't think it's very practical, I think CZ mostly made it for kicks IMO, as a civilian reason to buy the tactical block.

so you're going to pull out your GUN and CUT them? the use of the bayonet would be lethal force so you might as well shoot them.

so you're going to pull out your GUN and CUT them?

Most bad guys aren't worth the cost of ammo anyway, so why not?:)

It would be a neat toy to have. That, and if you run out of ammo your knife is already in your hand. You shouldn't have to worry about dripping it either since your grip will be quite secure.

I dare someone to attempt to grab the muzzle and push the slide out of battery.:D

They imported 99 of them, IIRC, mostly as a gag. The tactical block is there to mount all kinds of rail useable stuff, and the bayonet was only one of them. I don't know anyone off the top of my head who has one for sale right now, but good hunting!

I would see more value in a shotgun bayonet than a pistol. I can't think of any real benefit you'd get from having a bayonet on a pistol. At least on a long gun, you can just stab it into the ground to hold your gun up when your taking a leak or whatever and there's no tree nearby to stand it against.

A selling ploy, looks "tacticool". I have seen them at Whittaker Gun's, they said they don't sell many but get lots of looks!:D

like you guys said the bayonet would keep someone from grabbing your gun, but beyond that it's really more of a novelty item. I think you could probly get just as much benifit from doing a youtube search for weapons retention.

Cheaper Than Dirt has them too. I'm not sure exactly if I'd use one but I like the concept. Perhaps as an extra intimidation factor in home defense? I know I'd be at least a little extra scared to see a bayonet if I were on the wrong end of a gun--adds a little "...and I mean business" effect to it.

From a tactical standpoint, I'd say they are pretty much useless. However, thye may be worth their weight in gold for pissing off a liberal gun-gabber. :D

But it makes perfect sense!

Actually the gun is the accessory, it's purpose is to replace the blood groove on the knife. Stick it in the bad guy, then shoot him off of it. Repeat as necessary.;)

the pistol bayonet looks pretty cool mabe they will come out with a folding model lol:D

another cool thing there was a single shot 45acp built into a large knife i saw last year in a magazine when worn on the hip it looked like a regular huntin knife.

+1 the assorted marketing gimmick/joke comments. I don't think anyone outside the Mall Ninja Finishing Academy considers it a real weapon, but when they brought some into the country there was a demand for them. Market dynamics did the rest.

To me that silly boyonet on the handgun makes little no practical sence at all. :barf: If one has the gun and it comes to the point (literally) of needing that knife, you deserve the outcome of the BG's actions for 1) allowing the confrontation to escalate to having the BG at that proximity and 2) for still being there after not having stopped the confrontation with the firearm itself.

Cold dead hands...careful what you play with!

So the story goes....
there was this guy that bought one for his CZ to look cool.
One night he had it mounted on his pistol in the front yard, where it was really dark.
All of a sudden his wife drives up, so in a hurry he didn't want to look like a mall ninja creeping around his front yard with that silly looking thing, so he hurriedly sticks the gun into the front of his pants, mexican style.....forgetting he had the knife attached...
So now his name is cold dead.....

This is really a true story because I saw it on the internet!

I mostly want one because I collect what I consider to be unique bayonets.

As ridiculous as it looks, I still think it is kinda cool in an oddball kinda way and that is good enough reason for me to own one.

Whats the point of collecting toys if there is nothing to differentiate them from everybody elses toys?

You guys aren't nearly tactical enough. It is a well-known tactical fact that a pistol bayonet is an extremely effective short-range defensive weapon in the tactical close-range perimeter zone. It provides tactical back-up for the primary weapon, requires no upkeep/maintenance, and has an impressive psychological effect, too.

:D:D:D

Man, it's so tactical that it's tacticool!!!

There is one on the peg board at "GET SOME" guns and ammo in SLC Ut. I think it will only fit on the CZ and I personally wouldn't buy one on purpose. There are some good sales people that can sell you a bridge so More than a few guys have taken them home on a Ruger budget.
