The Canik

I've put about 150 rounds through my new TP9V2, and so far, it's great. A friend's TP9SA has gone well over 1000 with no issues of any kinds and only one misfire, and that was due to the round being deformed. It seems like there are a lot of decent cheap guns out there now. My $369 SAR K2 45 and $200 Taurus PT111 G2 have been pretty much perfect out of the box too.

I have the Canik TP9SF. So far it's been a good gun. I put a Dawson Precision fiber optic front sight on it last night so I'm going to try it out today. I'll post again later when I get back.

Update: The fiber optic front sight is definitely much easier to pick up than the stock front sight. The sight I ordered from Dawson was for a smith and wesson m&P. The height was .200". It shoots to point of aim or a hair low so if I was to order the sight again I would probably go with a .190" height instead.

Not sure where you heard that they have issues at 5k rounds. "canik" claims that it had to go through 60k rounds with no failures to pass. FWIW.

Canik tp9 v2......sf

I have both. 1,000 rounds each. 950 rounds 124 grn Federal American Eagle Fmjs then 50 rounds 124 grain Federal HST. Flawless. Accurate.Comfortable. Money well spent. Still prefer my SW MP9. I don't believe one could go wrong here. I buy the Canik before Taurus orSW Sigmas.
