Promise: "promises made to our veterans will be promises kept."
He said then that "in order to make sure that morale is high with those who wear the uniform today, we must keep our commitment to those who wore the uniform in the past. We will make sure promises made to our veterans will be promises kept."
Reality: In 1995 during Bill Clinton's second term the government stopped honoring that pledge, and many military retirees have had to pay for benefits through Medicare, which costs about $60 a month and pays for 80 percent of the expenses.

The Bush Administration has underfunded the VA so that past veterans and current veterans were unable to recieve proper care
A top official at the US Department of Veterans Affairs has ordered local VA administrators across the country to stop marketing their health care services and recruiting new veterans to use them because of tight finances and the risk of increasing already long waiting times for services.
"Even though some sites might have local capacity, as a national system, all facilities are expected to abide by this policy," wrote the official, Laura J. Miller, deputy undersecretary for health for operations and management, with the approval of the Veterans Affairs secretary.

I voted for Bush twice for Gov of Texas
I voted for Bush in 2000, I didnt vote for him in 2004. wonder why?
123,000 dollars went back to each millionare which could have bought 24 dragon skin vests for soldiers.
During WW2 my mom told me about sacrifices on the home front. Ration coupons, Gas coupons, candy, sugar, rubber, metal ect........
seems this administration doesnt mind that troops die because of lack of the best armor and vehicles. However, dont touch those tax cuts.
I have finally come to the conclusion that we just elect the lesser of evils, and I now know that you can tell when a politician is lying because his lips are moving.
or
When W went to DC the noecons are actually Pod People and replaced the W that I voted for twice as Gov of Texas with a Pod Person.
