KEEP THIS FRIENDLY GUYS. What, in your opinion, is the biggest rivalry in handguns? What is the one topic that when it comes up, everyone goes silent for a moment realizing that a major discussion is about to ensue.

THE PURPOSE OF THIS THREAD IS NOT TO REHASH THESE ARGUMENTS, just want to see what everyone thinks is the biggest "don't touch" subjects.

Being 62 years old the revolver versus semi-auto got my vote. These days maybe that is no longer among the top controversies. :)
 
As I am really new to this place it seemed to me that glock vs the world was the obvious answer...lol..or it could be that fact that I enjoy pouring gas on the fire by adding a few tuppergun comments myself..and I look for those particular threads just to comment on :).......just so u know..I am a glock owner :D
 
I have voted for none of the above, because there was not an option for all of the above, you can easily find lengthy and sometimes heated discussions on each of those topics in this forum, and that is just the new ones.

I have read and participated in many of them, not really bashing any one side just indicating what I have or have shot.
 
I voted Glock v. the world but was tempted to cast my vote for the caliber controversy and those two are leading the pack early on.

The most heated rivalry that came to mind...

1911 v. Glock - Each seems to represent their respective categories in handgun hierarchy. Always seems good for atleast 100+ posts. Never fails that someone's feelings get hurt.

Actually, any discussion dealing with 1911s or Glocks is a excellent stage for a lot of chest thumping, impossible claims, snyde remarks and counter remarks, etc, etc.

Oh...lower round count v. higher round count.
 
I went for Glock vs the world. The other option, IMHO, would have been Hi-Point vs the the world. Both of those bring out enough fanboys to start a reality series, lol!


Yes, I own, and carry daily, off duty, a Glock 23. On duty I'm issued a Remington-Rand, yes, a Remington-Rand, 1911A1. I have since put it up, and carry my FNP-9. Hopefully, I'll get to purchase that Remington-Rand!
 
Come to think of it, surprised no one brought up the .380 versus 9mm debate..... and throw the 38spl in there for good measure. :rolleyes:
 
assuming you mean in the real world and not just here or the internet in general, I picked revolver vs. semi-auto...the oldest battle of the choices, for sure..
