The biggest gun "whopper"

I filled my two antelope tags with one shot from my trust old '06. And one was running the other standing still. And they both just dropped right next to each other without even a step. And they were right next to the dirt road where I could just load um up.

I shot so well that I didn't have to clean it.

Aw shuks that shot twern't nutt'n, I could shoot better'n that anytime I want.

For the average LEO, 1911 "Cocked and Locked" (condition one) carry is just as safe as a double/single semi.

I didn't know it was private land, or I sure would have gotten permission officer.

I really don't know who put that gun in my backpack officer.

Cypselus & 45King,

Silk HAS been used as a means of armor...

The Mongols used to wear tightly woven jerkins of silk, several layers thick, under their other armor.

Arrows that penetrated the armor would still go into the body, but the head would be caught by the silk and be carried into the wound. By pulling on the silk, the arrow was more easily removed from the wound, and the wound itself was normally much less severe.

Chances are he knows how to use it.

When I talk to people who find out I know something about firearms, I find males sometimes will puff up at say:

I once shot a 45 Automatic and it damned near tore my arm off!!

Wow!

I HAVE seen 2 antelope killed with 1 bullet from a 30-06 a doe and a yearling staning broadside.. luckily the hunter had multiple doe / fawn tags.

As for the rest..

the worst I've heard lately is glocks never jam.. well I've seen LOTS of them jam in competition

other favorites:

Its stainless you don't have to clean it

and a personal fave "the m-16 is the best rifle in the world"

Q: how to you take a new russian gun to the range?

A: tie a chain around it and drag it behind the truck.

Rob

Mongol light cavalry did, supposedly, wear raw silk tunics. An arrow or javelin could penetrate the body without penetrating the silk, and could then be removed by pulling on the fabric. But stopping bullets? No.

Cypselus,

Actually, I would NOT be surprised if a layered silk jerkin COULD stop a bullet from one of the old "hand cannons" that were just starting to appear around the time that the Mongols were kicking ass and taking names in Europe.

Relatively large stone or lead bullet, fired at likely relatively low velocity given the nature of gunpowder at the time...

I could see it happening.

It's time someone told the truth. Low cap magazines make you shoot worse.

It takes me roughly twice as many reloads with 10 round magazines to shoot a nice 3 shot group at 25 yards ( doesn't 3 holes in the same target count as a group? ) as it did with my hoarded 19 round Glock mags.

( Helpful hint: if you place the target with it's bottom touching the ground you seem to get more hits on target for some reason )
