The Best 9MM pistol

Best stock out of the box, it's a tie, the Beretta 92FS, and a friend's super expensive CZ clone, not a Sphinx, more expensive. Solid SS, really nice wood grips, made in Canada, I think. Awesome gun. I've never seen a gun that smooth before or since. It cost something like $3000, used.

Customized, I would have to say the CZ-75 my friend bought off Gunbroker in the very early days that the site was in operation. He's still kicking himself for selling it, even at a huge profit.

The Best 9MM pistol

You've ever shot ?

From strictly an accuracy point of view, it would have to be a Swedish 1940 Lahti. That's not to say that it's the best 9mm ever, just the best one I have shot for accuracy.

In my experience the HK USP and Beretta 92fs stand out. Both are very soft recoiling, accurate and operate smooth as silk. The fact is however, there are a lot of really good 9mm pistols out there.

Depends on the price range. I´ve shot quite a few guns.

Low price, out-of-the-box, the IWI Jericho 941. A CZ-clone with a very good trigger out of the box. After a few hundred rounds, it gets even better. Go with the full-steel version. Sold as "Baby Eagle" in the US.

Medium price, STI Targetmaster. Soft recoil, somewhat slow slide travel (like the P210), 1911 grip angle fits most people.

High end: Tie between the new Sig Sauer X-6 and the P210 Super Target in terms of accuracy and shootability, but to me personally, the X6 is the best handgun ever made due to the modular design. Change the slide, and you have an X-5. Add the X-Bridge and compensated barrel, you have the IPSC Open version.

Note: My answer is purely from a competition point-of-view.

they should make posts like this illegal.
"best" is entire subjective.
Actually...
A 'post' is one single entry by any given participant. You most likely meant that this THREAD should be illegal, but you pretty much said that your own addition to it should be made illegal. :p

I believe the OP made it very open and easy for discussing by adding the "you've ever shot" tag in the meat of the opening post.

I think many or most of us like to dream about the guns we MIGHT have one day, but this thread discusses the "best" that we've had the chance to actually take for a dance.

I truly like my Gen 4 Glock 17 of the 9's I have shot.

You know, I'm really liking my Gen4 G17 as well. I don't like it better than my 226... it's certainly a contestant for second place, along with my USP 9.

+1 on the P226. My MK25 makes it ridiculously easy to fit whatever you're shooting at, even with the Wolf ammo I run through it.

Dan Wesson Pointman 9 - Excellent trigger , accurate , very comfortable to shoot rapid fire

Browning Hi Power - Ideal size , weight , and fit for me for a steel framed 9mm pistol....plus the fact it has been extremely reliable !

Absolute best? Pardini GT9 or Sig X6 Supermatch.

As anyone could infer from the thread, though, there's an uncountable number of excellent 9mm pistols.

So far with experience from my personnel collection, past and present only 6 different make and model 9mm pistols, it would be the Sig P6. Just a joy to shoot. would qualify some other Sigs and Berrettas, but I enjoy mostly .40 up to shoot these days.:D
