Terrorist's lawyers

Terrorism is terrorism whether internal or domestic. The acts led to the degradation or loss of all rights. Mincing words doesnt change the results.

Canada...South America...give me an example of a country that is an example of our government. Oh, sorry - there aint none. Our people and government are THE example for the world, proudly, thank you very much

yup..endorsing torture, loss of civil liberties and loss of due process at that rate we will catch up with China one day.

Did the people who have been beheaded in Iraq get due process for free from a major law firm?
Was it Ghandi that said if we keep taking an eye for an eye, the whole world will be blind ?

Lets bring the folks who did the headcutting to justice, not lynch some guy without due process just for justice by proxy. That is the kind of stuff the Nazis used to justify executing the locals for revenge.

No. Wanna know why?

Because theirs was the process of TERRORISTS. You seem to be advocating that we adopt the terrorist process instead of our present due process.

Eghad, sorry - missed one of your posts...When I referrenced "this guy", I was talking about the original posting member, not the government official - poor comunication on my part.

I dont think that we are probably too far off on our ideas, but a lot of people were coming down on anvil for things he didn't say or imply. I think I understand what his original feelings were...wasn't about all this other stuff.

Yes, I agree that the DOD guy should not have given his personal opinion using his professional forum. But again, the original posting member, I think, is tired of the US apoligizing to THEM. I doubt if this DOD guy is like his brother-in-law or anything. I, too, am fed up with apoligizing to the enmy for being what we are - and what we are is not a bad thing at all.

It is going to be hard for this government body, or any future government body of the US to change our rights easily, as long as there continues to be Patriots like us who will debate, and fight, for the right thing. I am just sooooo tired of the crying masses who have no patience for this fight against terrorism and want to cry foul for everything we do in the heat of battle. People seem to have no stomach for the preemptive fight with the latest bully on the block and want to wait until that bully has all there lunch money and there's no more to give. I hope they remember their staunch positions when their own daughters are forced to cover their faces with a veil...if that time ever comes, my daughters will remember that their Daddy died so that their smiles could shine

Patriot, I guess we're just not a paranoid as some.

Are you implying that anyone favoring due process is paranoid? Due process is in the Bill of Rights. So those favoring being treated in accord with the constitution are paranoid, according to you.

That sounds a little treasonous to me.

No, I'm not implying that anyone in favor of due process is paranoid. By making the paranoid statement, I'm talking about how the BATFE, 2nd amendment and everything has brought into this.

I think taking up for terrorist is treasoness

Never..provided that the person IS a terrorist...but you would deny the ability of people to defend themselves against WRONGFUL charges of terrorism.

Anvil, I answered your question..please answer mine. When did it become unpatriotic to INSIST that the government obey the Bill of Rights? When did it become unpatriotic to insist that the government honor the basic human rights of everyone? When did rights become an American only idea that could be denied everyone else?

Why can't you see that taking away basic human rights is a trait of a fascist dictatorship? Punishing people without representation and trial is a tactic that is used in North Korea, China, Cuba, Iraq, etc..would you have our country go down that road? Once you start down it..it's impossible to stop the inevitable decline..

I don't think I misunderstood that you are an advocate of taking away the right to counsel for those merely accused of terrorism.
