and its efficiency is only marred by the difficulty of finding twelve men

Point it straight.

Glocks shoot as straight as you do. Want to accurize a Glock? Shoot it more.

My stock Glock 32 hits 1 inch groups at 25 yards offhands in my hand. I am still not as accurate as the gun. The day I am more accurate than the gun, I will look to accurizing it rather than myself. JMHO!

A hardfitted Barsto barrel is a good start (www.barsto.com). Your reliability should suffer none and the gun should shoot one hole groups at 25 yards. Just a little more accurate than the stock setup. And a Glockworks trigger.
Put $2000 into it, and you could have one accurate, sweet shooting Glock. But why?

Red Bull: $2000 in a Glock? You have got to be kidding me. I hope that was a typo. You ask why: Because I want to, but not $2000. Maybe $200.00 or $300.00. Anybody have any comments on the Federal match grade barrels that cost about $90.00? Would I be better off sending my Glock off for a fitted barrel as opposed to buying a drop-in?
Thanks, Sling Shot

For best accuracy stay with a fitted Bar Sto or KKM barrel. Match barrel-sights-Trigger are about all you can do on the Glock to improve accuracy. But you can get much improvement.

I bought a Federal .357 barrel for my G20. Worked well and was reasonably accurate, however it was as loose or looser than the stock barrel.

Fitting a Glock barrel yourself is not too difficult. I had to do it once or twice with Olympic Arms products. Just carefully file the length and width of the hood to mate with the slide, making sure you don't change the bullet seating depth too much or else a chamber reamer might be required, and then file down the top flat in front of the chamber for proper lock up (flush with slide). Because of the barrel swap, my 19 is the most accurate 9mm I have ever owned now.

Replace with 1911................or failing that, try sending it to a gunsmith (with a big wad of $) for a hard-fit Bar-Sto/Jarvis barrel and some fine tuning.

Red bull come on that is crap!

Who do you think you are fooling?

1" off hand with a G32 at 25 yards?

I am sure that was a typo of some sort.

I have shot hundreds of Glocks as my deptpartments armorer and have never seen a Glock in my life that would do that. I'm also certain that your gun won't either.

AUG:

Lemme guess. Your Department has Glocks in .40 S&W, right?

Is there very much variation in accuracy between specimens? What's the best and worst you've personally seen.

I LOVE large-sample statistics!

Before the pissin contest really gets started up here let me give my example of my last G19. The stock barrel shot about 3.5 in. at 25 yds. I next ordered a KKM drop in from Glockmeister. It would not drop in! I decided I would fit the barrel myself. Long story short I ruined that barrel. Next the G19 was sent (I do learn) to Jarvis for a fitted barrel. When returned groups were down to about 3in. I still wasn't satisfied so I ordered a Bar Sto drop in. This one shot even better than the fitted Jarvis and reduced groups to about 2.5in. with me shooting. Much better but my stock BHPs and CZs will outshoot it. My G26 will even come close and it's stock. For me the Glock 9mms have been more accurate than the 40s but thats a debate for another time. Anyway thats my story and I'm sticking to it!

Shoot four days a week. At least a hundred rounds each session.

Practice makes perfect.

Something I did not long after I got my Glock was to stop shooting from twenty-five to thirty yards away. I was new (still am) to handgunning, but I reasoned that as a kid, I learned to shoot up close, then graduated farther and farther back. Applying this line of reasoning to the Glock, I'd warm up at five yards with the pistol, then move back to ten. When I was secure at ten yards, then I moved back to fifteen, etc., etc. Now I'm far more accurate and confident at twenty-five to thirty yards after nine months of shooting.

It worked for me, but do what works best for you.

We don't issue Glocks but many guys carry them for 2nd gun/off duty and I have owned 20 or more myself at various times. They are very uniform in quality but the most accurate glocks are the most shootable glocks i.e. the full size 9mm and 45acp. Nobody ever said the glocks were tack drivers. Thank you Mr. Glock for making a great gun with a RANCID trigger.
