Taurus must have a complex...

To me the " RAGING BULL " stamp adds character to the nice vent ribbed looking full underlug barrel . Looks a whole lot better than those ugly ass flat sided Smith and Wesson barrels! Now the Ruger's look just fine to me. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder!

It bothers me less than the paragraph that Ruger put on my Mk III and no more than the billboards that go on my 1911s.

Some folks like it, some don't. That's the beauty of a free market.

They feel the need to slap their name all over a gun, what other company does this? I don't think any other gun company does this as obviously as Taurus. There's a guy selling a PT-1911 in town for $450 which is a nice price...

Maybe that's why they are selling so well!

I'll take my RIA Government over that every time.

Since everything Taurus makes is a copy of something else, they mark thiers big so people might buy from them instead of going hmm nice gun, think I'll go buy me a Beretta...

I would never discourage someone from buying any Beretta--you figure if a company has been in business since the 16th century, they must be doing something right;) (I have both their pistols and shotguns and they are among the highest quality firearms in my rather modest collection). However, I can tell you in absolute terms that I prefer the Taurus 92 'straight-up' against the Beretta. Along those same lines, I have both a Beretta 21A and a PT-25 and as 'mouse-guns' go they are equivalent in both design and quality--I will use either as my BUG absent any second thoughts, that is only after I determined the proper ammo to feed the mice and they now both run as fast as I can reload.

As far as originality, I have either a Judge or Governor on my shopping list but isn't S&W copying off of Taurus here? I like the .45LC in the Judge but I also like the .45ACP option afforded by the Governor (so I have yet to make up my mind on where my tax return is to be allocated:confused: that is if it doesn't wind up in my gas tank:eek:).

(*Contrary to what I had thought, it's not an original Taurus design and I stand corrected via jimbob86 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MIL_Thunder_5) .

Although I'd never buy a Judge I say who cares. Having an original design is not required in this day and age to run a successful gun company. Truth is there are very few original designs out there.

Agreed, look at how everybody and their brother is "copying" Kel-Tec? And that's just one example.

Have you looked at a Springfield EMP lately? That aside it hasnt interfered with how the pistol shoots. Wouldnt trade it for nothing! :)

There are a few manufacturers that get bashed often on gun boards. Taurus being one of them. Personally I wouldn't hesitate to buy another PT1911. It shoots ase accurate and reliably as my S&W and SA 1911s. Though, with those manufacturers you have to do some research on which of their models are problematic.

i agree that Taurus puts too much on most of their slides, however when they do not, I think they make very nice semiautos.

The TCP 738 and the 709 slim are very good looking guns

taurus revolvers good. auto loaders bad

Go with a Glock and ignore the haters out Glock has an array of models calibers and sizes. I carry a full size Glock 22 gen3 I I love it. Plain ,black and mean looking plus 40cal is a good cal. Nice knock down power 15 round mag. I love my Glock
