Tactical Revolver in Germany

Real gun? what is that thing on it??????????????????
A silencer/suppressor. The shroud around the cylinder I'm assuming is to seal in the gas.

Seems like the famous air force coffee maker that worked inverted and in zero gravity. It's cool, but why do it?

"that's not a tactical revolver...this is a tactical revolver!"

Hey, at least they're not using this thing: http://kotaku.com/5922292/this-is-a-chinese-gatling-gun-for-um-cops (happenstance link from the quoted posting. Technically still a revolver...:D)

FWIW, I'm totally happy with my TRR8. Just got a shoulder holster for it so I can start dreaming about concealing that tank (just funnin' (maybe), I intend to carry it while backpacking). Great sights, great trigger, more accurate than me, capacity of a Coonan, and reliable regardless of ammo (unlike the Coonan).

S&W claims (I'm actually quite skeptical, since ad-copy reviews always bring this up) that SWAT shields bearers prefer the revolver since they can brace it against the shield without worries of slide failures. I guess it is also more reliable than a recoil-operated semi after mounting a bunch of crap on it...

Anytime you bring a wheel gun rather than an automatic to the fight against anything but a moose, bear or other large dangerous game your weapon is leaving you a little less prepared.

Unless of course the fight requires you to take your shot at contact distance, an injured hand, with a less-than-ideal grip, or at an unusually large individual against whom the power and penetration of cartridges like .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum would be beneficial. If you're in one of those situations, a semi-auto generally leaves you a little less prepared. The $64,000 question then, is which situation are you most likely to find yourself in?

Burner #39

Are there designs out there with a firing port for the handgun that are in use?

I think it was AmericanGunner on the R8, not sure which, I threw it away, or lost it.

I looked up SWAT shields, but never did see any with a shooting hole, but a revolver makes sense, and what better would there be, an R8. 8 shots of hot .357 trouble free (wink wink) booms!

I'm not sure about the reach around to shoot though.

Very interesting. The debate is pointless, but it is interesting. Pistols are now the norm. Revolvers will still do the job, but they are no longer considered front-line. Now it's autos and that's all there is to it. But if I come up against an armed suspect using a revolver I will treat him the same as somebody with a Glock or a shotgun. Any of those will kill me.
