Surplus Beretta M.92S What the deal?

It will make a nice gun period. These were made back when Beretta still used all metal parts. Back when they still did a nice blue on handguns. These are NIB Italian Berettas at a under $350 OTD price. I spoke with my source for NIB guns and they are truly unissued never shot guns.

Here are a few pics

I also got clarification on the mags. Factory Beretta mags that have the cutout at the base of the mag like this one are what you need. There are also 17 round Mecgars out there that have the notch as well. So there should not be a mag problem with these guns you just have to know which one to buy.

They are available for $20 at Midway and I am sure you can find them cheaper if you poke around a bit.

There are lots of vendors out there with these guns in stock. Most are selling good to VG guns. There seems to be two exceptions:

My source for these guns is Dan's Ammo in PA. I have bought lots of stuff from Dan over the years and trust his grading of surplus guns. The pics I posted earlier in this thread are of the guns he is shipping. I do not work for Dan and I gain nothing by passing his info along except the his good will and the good will of those who experience his excellent customer service. I just like the guns he sells and the deals he offers are always outstanding. Has decent pricing on ammo as well!

He is selling handpicked NIB guns for $319 + USPS shipping and + transfer. I placed my order today at 10:15 and got shipping/tracking info by 10:55.

It also looks like the 92S at SOG, Southern Ohio Guns, guns are in excellent condition. SOG is selling these for $295 + shipping and + transfer on your end so should be right about $350.

Fellow member madmo44mag picked one up and from the pics looks LNIB if not NIB.

Looks like SOG might come in a little lower depending on how you pay for the purchase and how your FFL is setup with them. I have never ordered from SOG but they have a good rep.

Either way this is a killer deal IMHO. A basically NIB Italian Beretta for under $350 OTD. If you can live with the heel style mag release I suggest picking one up! Will post pics as soon as I get the gun in my hands and will post a range report ASAP!

On @WVSig's advice I ordered mine from Dan's Gun's at 11:54 and I got the shipping confirmation at 12:23 despite the fact that they'd never done business with my FFL before. The person I talked to on the phone was extremely helpful.

I also received immediate, prompt communication with Dan's. I ordered one of the NIB 92S models last night and they shipped before 10AM this morning with a real person emailing me.

I will do business with them again.

M92s

Per tracking, mine is to be delivered today. Couple of magazines are in transit from Midway. I am hoping the handgun condition is as good as some of the great photos I have seen this week from other users.

Who did you pick yours up from?

WVsig,
I ordered mine from Dan's Ammo in PA. Saw a couple of other post last week and was impressed with the guns being delivered. I ordered one he classed as "collectors grade" which are supposed to be hand-picked for condition.

Received one from PSA today, 100% brand new.....used mag

Sweet! You lucked out a lot of them from PSA were not 100% brand new. Lots of variation and from what I heard it was luck of the draw. Pics? Also what is the date code on your gun?

I have never ordered from PSA. I always here good and bad about them. Some people love them some people have had issues.

I got mine today (snow storm delayed it) and I feel hugely thankful to WVSig and Dan's. My pistol is brand spanking new. Flawless finish, factory grease, gorgeous bluing, that unmistakable patina of a brand new gun. I got a brand new Beretta 92-series, my favorite design ever, in a variant that is no longer produced, for $336 shipped.

I'll get pics up soon. Dan's earns a lifetime customer and WVSig earns a hearty thank you and owe-you-one for the heads-up.

If you want a new looking one don't order from Bud's just picked mine up and while the interior is nice and new looking and it has what appears to be a new barrel and locking block, it has a lot of blue wear. I'm ok with it as I just wanted a 92 for the collection plus I had a gift card that needed used, I doubt I shoot more than a box thru it and it'll look right in line with my other euro trash.

I updated the larger thread on these 92s guns but forgot to update this one.
Like some others, my 92S looked basically NITB. Almost perfect.
Had one small scuff on the plastic knurled grip that was hardly noticeable. The gun looked new inside and out. A huge bargain for the price. It is now my prized semi-auto. About 100 rounds at the range ran flawless (I pre-cleaned it first). i am indebted to all who brought these to the attention of the forum.

I bought a 92 about 25 years ago and it still works great. Otherwise I would have ordered one of these.

My FiL has never owned a semi-auto, and has been wanting a 9mm. Yesterday I showed him the great deals on these. He handled mine (including a field strip), liked it, and ordered one. I will post a pic when it arrives.

Thanks for the heads-up on the great deal! :)

Date on first 92 (the new one) is 2004. I have not received the second one that I later ordered and with Black Friday sales it probably will be awhile before shipping. I am a realist and do not expect another in 100% condition. Sorry no photos, I can barely turn a computer on much less go through the photo posting process .

I bought one and it is like NIB.
These were advertised as military police returns.

I have a couple of buddies that also bought one and they are like NIB also.
Great deal on a good gun.
