Surgery tomorrow

Terri,

You blew my surprise! I was just about to come in here and post this and Gunslinger was going to print it out and bring it to the hospital with him. I even set my alarm to go off earlier LOL. So I'll just send my good luck along with everyone else. You are in my thoughts and prayers today and I hope everything goes well.

Gunslinger, please let us know how she is doing when you get back. :)

UPDATE:
Terri had her surgery shortly after noon today and is doing great. Better than expected in fact. The doctor explained that he placed two titanium "plates" in her back. I'm not certain of this, but based on his description I'm fairly sure they were side plates taken from a Taraus Total Titanium 8 shot .357 revolver. I did assertain beyond a shadow of a doubt, much to his chagrin, that they were definately not Smith & Wesson side plates. Due to the angle required to attach the plates Marlin butt plate screws were used to anchor them in place.
She was up and walking 15 minutes after comimg out from under the anist....anst...an...drugs to put her to sleep. The doctor said she would be fine to come home tomorrow. Funny how the nursing staff seemed very happy to hear that. There was much rejoicing on their part and the threats of quitting their employement there were with drawn after they learned she would be leaving soon. It seems they are not accostomed to having patients wanting to "run the halls" immediately after back surgery.
Her only complaint right now is the fact that she does not having access to a computer and is experiencing TFL withdrawls. Earlier she had me read the post on this thread to her over the phone and is very grateful for all the well wishes.
Thank you all.

Just a few lines to let you know I'm home and feeling great, just not going to be able to do much, which will be the hardest part for me, because I'm too independent to let anyone else help me, so it will probably take Gunslinger and his whip to hold me down. LOL Surgery went great as Gunslinger said I was up and out of my bed within 15 mins after coming from surgery and have had no pain pills at all, just don't have no pain, a little soreness but of course I'm not the normal person because it takes alot of pain for me to say I even hurt, I guess you would say thats where that tough ole MONKEY comes in. LOL I just want to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers, because it is always nice to know you have friends and I have found out the friends on TFL are more than just friends, you all are like family. :)

Glad to hear you're doing so well.

I herniated (not quite as bad as a rupture I don't think) two discs back in '93 and pray I never hurt that bad again.

Take it easy (let Gunslinger do all the work :) )and let it heal.

It was nice meeting y'all in Columbia last weekend.

Well look at that, just out of the hospital and already posting :D I think you went into the wrong hospital ;). Glad to hear everything went well! :) I hear the whip a crackin already ;)

Good to hear you are home. Now that I know who you/Gunslinger are, I'll have to start being nice to you. Anybody who's ridden herd on that old ( fill in the blank ) has ta be sumpin else. I is in awe of ya. Rusty

WOW......good on ya Terri. Please post who and where you had it done when you feel like it. Gotta be some sort of a record.

Nikita Khrushchev predicted confidently in a speech in Bucharest, Rumania on June 19, 1962 that: " The United States will eventually fly the Communist Red Flag...the American people will hoist it themselves."

Dr. Mark Crabtree out of Springfield, Mo. did it and I was in St. Johns hospital but he was even amazed at my recovery, I'm just the type that don't let anything get me down and it takes alot of pain for me to say I have pain. The nurses said they have never seen anything like this, never seen anyone wanting to run the halls 15 mins out of the operating room, I was out in front of the hospital smoking when Gunslinger pulled up to come get me today, sometimes I amaze myself but I am too determined to let anything get me down. :)

Place has gone to h... since it got moved from Nevada to get Californicated. ) Ain't been this much excitement in these parts since they moved the Esmeralda County seat from here in Hawthorne to Goldfield.

Hey, glad you are back!
Did the Doc restrict you to Rimfire Only during your recovery?
