Suggestions needed for a good CC pocket gun

Far as something to keep in the truck, the Auto Ord M1 "Thompson" 45 acp goes behind the seat just fine for me and there's plenty of used hicap mags listed in Shotgun News for $15 each in the 30 round style. 20 rounders are more like $25. Plus there's something very engaging about it's presence...

Oh, for actually ON you? 38 snub. I can understand "Shemms" loyalty to the Jetfire with no grips slabs ( mine's got the longer threaded barrel ), and I love my 7.65mm Mod. 34/35 Berretta, but 007 was a quart low when he gave up on the Bodyguard for that stinkin' well named "Kriminal" DA trigger pull. It's SA pull is OK, but the DA pull really is a crime! ( Just tzn, Mike! )

And Laz, Dirty Harry LIED! It was really a 41 magnum model 57 in the first movie.

( Even Hollywood couldn't get a model 29 at the time. There, Coronach, feel better now? )

I got a NAA Guardian this weekend. It's a great little gun that is about the same size, albeit heavier than the P32. I tried both the Guardian and the P32. The big problem I have with the P32 is the triangular sight. I could hit the target but the shots were eratic as I was never sure if I was aligned the same as last time. With the Guardian I was able to make one hole at seven yards and even keep four of six on an 8x8 piece of cardboard at 25 yards.

As has been pointed out already, the first rule is to have a gun. With a pocket .32 like the Guardian or P32 you have a flat package that is a joy to carry. As a result you have no excuse not to carry it. If you can accomadate a larger gun all the time by all means do so. But the .32 can be concealed under anything short of a nudist camp. Even then it doesn't have too many sharp edges... :)

STI LS9 or 40. Either is a 1911 pattern weapon but extremely small. I heard they had some bugs but have been worked out.

Whoops. Didn't read well enough to see you didn't want a manual safety. With that caveat, try a Glock 26/27/33 (I've got the 26) or a Kahr. I may pick up a Kahr polymer at the next gun show, just to try it.
