Stoeger's Newest Tactical Shotgun -- PIC

I, too, was hoping it's a Photoshop job. Luke Skywalker meets Jesse James. :barf:

What you don't see in the pic are the vertical ports. The flash could be quite exciting for the shooter. Also, for an arm like this, I wouldn't have chosen a single trigger -- it's just something to go wrong. The traditional coach gun is looking better and better.

To each his/her own...

My wife saw it in the Defense mag. She liked it, but disagreed with the optic on top; same for me. Solution: don't buy it. I still like Stoeger, and I'm pretty sure they don't build just for me. Though I do laugh in the field every time my 2000 outshoots my relation's Benellis... I could see why folks would both love and hate this gun. Same for a gun we have--the judge. Over 30 years of gun ownership have taught me that almost every gun made can have a strange niche and or relevant/significant/real purpose for the right owner.

I handled one of these in Gander Mtn. last night.
It looks and feels kind of odd to me. Now, I have a Rossi exposed hammers coach gun in 12 ga. and it swings and handles really nice for me. I don't know if it's just because I'm used to the Rossi and the "feel" was kind of off to me or what. It just didn't feel and swing right for me.

But, if it works for ya and you can get past the appearance, then, good for you!:D Only you know what works for YOU.

As for me, my bedside shotgun will remain a pump and I'll keep the coach gun for fun. Don't need Picatinny rails on a fun gun.:D

Not sure about the optics but for a hd shotgun i would definatly want rails for a flashlight..so lose the scope and keep the front rail for a light.

I like it. Its classier than the electric tape mount on my double 10 that does the HD thing. Don't know about the optic rail, but I like the light rail. I'd buy it if I had the coin.

So Ala Dan we are in high anticipation of the range report.

That would make a great office conversation piece. I have a long gun of the quarter display......time for a change-up. :D

Finally got to handle one in the local GM. Was not impressed at all by the fit and finish. IMO, everything about it said "cheaply made, low quality".

YMMV

Regardless of the style, it's still a Stoeger :D

I actually like Stoegers though, if not this style.

I handled one at the local shop a month or so back, and it does not come with the optics....that's just silly. However, the light also has a built in laser sight. For HD, a light is a great idea and a laser sight is never a bad idea. It's just easier to point and shoot. If you don't like the laser, don't turn it on.

As far as feel, I was amazed at how heavy it was. It felt like 9 pounds or better but I didn't have a scale. The additional weight would help absorb recoil and get back on target quicker especially with porting.

If you don't like doubles for HD, that's fine. However, if you don't feel under gunned with 2 shots, it's got very reasonable upgrades for an HD weapon.

As for quality, I use a Stoeger for skeet/trap and am very comfortable with their reliability. There's really nothing bad about it except the optic they stuck on for the picture and that it's new and different.
