Stoeger's Newest Tactical Shotgun -- PIC

Mind you this is coming from a Rem 870 Knox Tac. owner.

I have one of those too. And a S&W 327 TRR8. This Stoeger just looks ludicrous, but if it annoys that many people, maybe I ought to keep my eye out for one. I'm not even remotely interested in a SxS, let alone a "tactical" one, but for some reason I just enjoy guns that irk purists.

Now they just need to come out with a Bullpup Kit.

Too bad there's not a speed loader for it.

Does it have ejectors? Or just extractors? I think in a TAKTIKAL situation when you're surrounded by 37 al-qaeda in your rural home, you'd want ejectors to speed up your reload by 0.57 seconds.

In your rural home, when attacked by 37 al-qaeda, you have at least three coach guns, and at least two females reloading for you.;)

I don't like the single trigger. A coach gun should have 2 triggers, preferably that can be pulled at the same time. There's nothing like a double load of #4 buck from under 30 feet to really ruin a BG's day.

I've been chopping up a couple old strong action exposed hammer side by sides into coach guns this year... done 3 so far... I have been wanting one for Mrs Magnum in .410 ( with exposed hammers ) the new sporting goods store has one of the Stogers for less than $200.00... that I think I might buy ??? I'd rther have an older gun though...

IMO, that gun is practical, with the single trigger, & the way it's finished... I agree with the posters that thought no rails, but a mounted flashlight would be cool...

it would need ejectors for it's intended purpose, & I can't find reference as to weather it has those or just extractors ???

& definately lose all the rails... maybe direct mount a light ???

I also first thought it must be a Photoshopped joke...

But who's going to buy a factory ninja'd side by side??? You can't scare the BG's with the noise of the slide, and if 5 + 1 in a standard pump gun isn't enough for the "tacticool" crowd, they're not gonna believe they can get by with a lousy two shells...

Oh, I get it. If looking down one 12 gauge barrel will scare them, looking down two will scare them at least twice as much.

That thing is a monstrosity.

I just got done reading an article on defensive shotguns in Shooting Times' special edition Personal Defence magazine. They had this to say about it:
"Stoeger recenly introduced a new 20 gauge coach gun with rails and barrel porting, it's the favorite in a range day lineup with several new shooters at a recent practice session. The Double Defence, because of the rails under the barrel and on the top tends itself well to attaching accessories."
Other shotguns tested were the Mossberg 590A1 and the the Remington 870.
They seemed to like it, I guess there's no accounting for personal likes and dislikes. BTW, I do know that gun magazines tend to not be too tough on advertisers!

i saw one at gander mountain today. it didn't have the top pic rail. just a fiber optic sight and lower rail for a light. I liked it. but for my money I would rather have there standard coach gun. for 2 reasons. one being i want ,ore than to shells in a fight. and two, i always wanted a coach gun cause there just cool and fun to shoot, and there standard version is much cheaper

Without the rail and light it wouldn't be bad. Wonder what the LOP is and if they have the single trigger problems solved. May be better served sticking to the 2 trigger jobs they already have on the market.

i gotta agree with you. for $369 you can get there standard coach gun which is basicly the same gun save for the fact that that it has wood stocks and double triggers(which I prefer any way) and for $469 you can get there deluxe coach gun that has chokes (don't know why you need them with a gun that short but to each his own)

as for LOP; it does feel short in my arms. (keep in mind I have fairly long arms) but I would say it is similar to shooting an 870 with a youth stock.

I disagree with you guy's, as I like the Stoeger 12 gague "Double Defense"
shotgun. As a matter of fact, we recently got in only 5 of these "tacticool"
12 gague weapons; and I bought one of 'em myself~! Go figure~! ;) :D

Had a thought. How about a scope to shot slugs out of it for hunting???? And it could double for home defense.:D

I don't want to sound too grumpy but this kinda crap really bothers me. When a firearm company produces a joke gun like this (and it is a joke gun. It's totally and completely stupid) it makes me lose all respect for that company. They clearly aren't taking themselves seriously so why should I seriously consider buying from them? I mean this is just childish really.
