Either Witness 10mm compact or Glock 29. Depending on which one I get a better deal on.

I also want the H&K .45acp carbine and .357 Model 94.

Plan to make my purchase on January 20, 2009. :D

I don't have a 4" revolver, and I can't make up my mind between the GP100, S&W 686P, or the Model 64 S&W .38.

Found a High Standard Victor similar to this one for $500 with original manual and a couple of spare mags-

Very, very nice, Luis!! I am also waiting on one...a 627 S&W Standard. It's hard to be patient, isn't it?

This thread will never die!

CortJester started this ages ago, but folks are always looking for new handguns.

Just purchased today...

Ruger Mark III Standard with the 4 3/4" barrel

It's an early bday gift from my lovely girlfriend! She's the best! I've been wanting and eyeing the .22 pistols for awhile and really was chomping at the bit to get a nice ruger mark 2 or 3. Well the mk III was on sale at Cabelas and I had some accumulated points so I bought it and my girl said she would reimburse me as a bday gift, nice eh?

Took it apart and cleaned it up and didn't really have too much trouble with the take down and reassembly as some have found on the boards. As long as you follow the instructions and do them exactly it was a piece of cake!

Can't wait to get to the range wednesday and try it out!

Got lucky at a gun show and picked up a Ruger Mk2. 6inch target model, like new. My first .22 and its damn fun and affordable to shoot till I get my reloading started.

If I can keep a job. I would like to try before I buy a Glock 19 for my primary CCW. Taurus or S&W snub .38 for my pocket/ankle.

side note: I want a Moss 590a1 and AR/AK.

Since I don't own a large caliber revolver, that will be next. We are in the western mountains one or two weeks a year. Thinking about a 6" .44mag.

Keeping the weight to a minimum (for hiking all day) and barrel lenth of 6", I am open to ANY suggestions on make & model???

22 for me, possibly a Ruger Mark II or III. Gun show this weekend in Somerset, Ky hoping (yeah, right) to find a good deal. Picked up a Sigma 9mm today in a GOOD trade, not exactly the 9mm I wanted but could not pass up the deal:D Anyone else coming to the show?

Thanks AKR.

I've owned an SP101 for 18 years. Great gun. Carried it in the Rockies in 2006. Would like a little more firepower. In three weeks we had several VERY close encounters with brown bears and moose.

Just checked Ruger website.. and the Redhawk stainless .44 in 5 1/2" looks good to me.

I have read several "what will kill a bear" threads... and I am left unsure. I do not carry a rifle when hiking, and I have to balance the extra weight when hiking with relative firepower. I hope the .44mag is a reasonable and effective compromise.

I've decided my next one's going to be the Ruger Charger. Won't be able to get it till next payday but I've already found a 8" threaded barrel for it and figure it'll make a good host for the Outback II when the Form 4 comes back.
