So How Many Times Do You Slap A Magazine Before You Insert Into Firearm

Turtle head. So how many times are you going to start threads with a "so how many times" question. I count around 5 of them by now. Are you really that obsessed with playing with your guns or just bored and can't think of anything more productive than to ask these somewhat pointless questions?

Well I am one of those who is happy there will be " none times" of these pointless threads in the future. Let's go back to real firearms issues like----why is my Mk III Hi power trigger pin defying removal? Or does anyone know a source for a Mk II rear sight? Ask questions that illicit information from others whom may have solved the problem. Guess my rant is concluded.

Turtlehead re: Darkstar888

I wondered about that...

Thanks for clearing it up Turtlehead.

Meaning you also wondered how many "So how any times?" Threads he was gonna start. Apparently more then no times. A lot more.

Just to reiterate to those who may be having reading comprehension issues...

I AM NOT THE AUTHOR OF THIS THREAD or any of the other similarly themed threads.

My bad your totally right. Feel dumb. I got confused cuz at the time I said that you were the most recent poster on all of them. Sorry about that.

No problem. That's what I figured.

I posted in all three threads in a row. It was like a turtlepalooza in the right hand column. :D

My apologies Darkstar888, for not being clear. I was thanking Turtlehead for making it clear to me that he was not the original poster. I could/should have just went back to the beginning and read through the posts again but all is well now.

I was just told there would be punch and cookies.

I'm still trying to figure out who decided so many decades ago that punch and cookies go good together - yuk! :p.

So, if we're done sparring . . .

With my 1911's, the answer is none.
With my double-stacks, I tap vertically two or three times; then toward the back once.

Anecdotally, it seems to slightly help with feeding - maybe. At this point, it's mostly just a ritual I do at the range. Something to pace me; gives me a moment to collect my thoughts, etc. A bit like wiping the ball in bowling.

So turtlehead, has it actually been established and true beyond any reasonable doubt that you are not for sure the originator of this thread?

Nick_C_S: I'm still trying to figure out who decided so many decades ago that punch and cookies go good together - yuk! .

I am betting it was from the early 1900s, or late 1800s, when most beverages labeled 'punch' had alcohol in them by design [not by an unruly uncle spiking it]. With the right alcohol, the cookies probably tasted good- and they needed the 'food' in their system to absorb the alcohol.

Just my $.02 ;)

As to the original question, my first thought was 'huh'

Sounds like a Hollywood move to me.

I know there are some situations where that may be useful, but I don't expect to run into most of them.

My answer: I don't slap anything I want to bet my life on- I treat it with respect. Don't want bad Karma.
