Smith and Wesson serial number search

The serial is D243xxx
SN's ran from D90001 in 1969 to D330000 in 1970.
10-5 would be correct and should be stamped on the side on the frame (just forward of the cylinder) that's only visable when the cylinder is open.

Good evening - I inherited a S&W 357 Magnum and would like to have an idea of its age. SN K58xxx Looks like there could possibly be a 4 or a triangle before the sn. Any info would be appreciated! (age, approx value)

Smith & wesson

I have a Smith & Wesson revolver 6 shot, 4" barrell and the only numbers on it are on the butt of the grip. The numbers are 5675 and I can not find the value or any information about it on the WEB. Does anyone know where I can find out how old it is or its value?

Got to figure out what model it is first. Caliber? (chambering should be stamped on the side of the barrel) Any letters near those numbers? Any patent dates on the top of the barrel? Modern swing out cylinder or old style top break?

EDIT: see post further down.

1981.
SN's ran from 7D10001 to 9D44500 that year.

Frank Ray Hunt,

I see in another thread you listed the caliber as 22LR.
That would make it a .22/32 Kit Gun Model of 1953 (Model 34).
Serial numbers ran from 101 in 1953 to 135465 in 1969.
The model 34 featured 2" or 4" barrels and the model 35 was 6".

Value ranges from around $300 in good to $750+ in "as new"

I think it is a model 10

I have a revolver that looks like a model 10 but has no 10- in the frame. 6 shot it also has the serial number stamped on the back of the cylinder. I have never seen that before. It has the large S&W logo on the right side of the frame. .38 S&W special. serial number is c223xxx
Can I find out if it is a model 10 and the DOB approx value in good cond.
Thank you in advance
ED;)

I was hoping someone could tell me what year it was made in and if you might know the value? Any assistance would be much appreciated. I am unemployed and canot afford to buy some book to look it up so thank you in advance.

S&W 17-3 Age, Value

I have a S&W 17-3 SN 741XX and wonder about it's age.
Also, there is a 1"X3/16" patch of light rust on the barrel- a piece of paper in the case attracted moisture. It has light rust under the wooden grips as they also collected moisture. I would like to know how much the rust will detract from it's value.
Thanks for any help.

S & W mosdel 36 DOB

Went out to eat after church and my wife asked me what revolvers were on my bucket list. I told her I had a long list but realy wanted a Model 36 to replace the one I sold 40+ years ago. Stopped in gun shop and there in the case was a model 36-2. It was like new just a faint turn ring so it came home with me. I have been told Christmas is coming so I can not purchase the SMITH 8 WESSON BOOK. I can't wait ,so here is the sn BDU54xx. Thank you J
